Is this a return to our good old Brendan days where every game is both a thrill and torture?

:grinning:  I'll take it.

Maybe not performance wise, but result wise we couldn't have asked for a better start than 3 points away at Arsenal. It's going to be a wacky season.

Looks like we're set up for a "we'll score more than you" game.

4-3 to us  :buttrock

Im assuming Can and Grujic arent quite ready but we just about survived in midfield aided by a some wonderful attacking play, headed by Couthino and Mane.

No more moneyball at left back just put the cash down and buy one, if we can bolster that defence and central midfield it will really give us a chance, its been 26 years so lets not mess about and front up with the money.

You just cannot read this team, awful for 45 mins then absolutely sensational for 20 mins and it won us the game.

Nervy ending to say the least. Absolutely ecstatic that we got 3 points at the Emirates. 4-1 victory would have been awesome but I'd take 3 point however they happened.
When Arsenal got the third i thought here we go again same old shyte.

This is huge for us. Winning the first game of the season. Away game to Arsenal, which we've only beat Arsenal away from home 1 time in the last 20 fixtures. Had some injuries, some players not ready, but we still pulled it off. We also came back from being down and won, which is something we very rarely do.

Mane is going to be a huge signing for us. Coutinho could compete for PL player of the year this year if he uses his ability more consistently than last year. Hopefully Karius is good enough to replace Mignolet, and if we do get a solid left back we could have a very solid team.

Fantastic start to the year, hell of a game!
