So does this not indicate that you wish to sell him?

Am I to understand that, despite believing his sale would be a blessing, you wish to keep him?

No mate. Sorry, but no. You state quite clearly that you think it'd benefit the club if he were sold, so how else can I take it?

no it doesnt indicate that i think we should sell him, also the fact that i say i dont advocate selling him should tell you that i dont want to sell him.

however i am not stupid enough to think that alonso is the be all and end all of our chances for future success, and if we do sell him then it may benefit the club in the long run.

there is a massive difference between wanting to sell him and not being too upset if we do sell him, massive difference mate.

do you really think i would say i dont want to sell him if i did want to sell him?

i think he can still do a very good job for us, but now we have mash to fill that position, and going on his form this season, i dont think it would be a massive loss (again this is not saying i want to sell him)

i hope now its clear (even though its been very clear in my previous posts)

Fair enough.

I'm sure you can appreciate why I believed you wanted rid, though.

The humane thing to do is to take this thread about behind the barn and shoot it.  The old mare's been lame for pages now. :D

I spend 20mins finding a good quote and you say shoot it!!!  :D  Im getting my quote in first!

The first name on this list would be Corinthians and Argentina star, Javier Mascherano. Now that's the correct usage of the word "star," because ladies and gentlemen, he is indeed one. The holding midfielder has drawn comparisons with Claude Makalele due to his ability to spot and stop potential danger. That is where the comparisons end as he is also a terrific footballer, with brilliant vision and wonderful passing ability. He is sometimes seen as a deep lying playmaker, in the mould of Xabi Alonso, Xavi, and Andrea Pirlo. But he is also Argentinean, so like Gabriel Heinze, he is one tough :censored:. He tackles ferociously and despite his size, holds no fear when it comes to engaging in a crunching challenge.

Michael Carrick

Not really a holding midfield player, although he does sit deep and starts most of Tottenham's attacks with his range of passing. Unfortunately, he isn't blessed with any pace and can't tackle, both of which are vital in the holding role.

One thing no one can say is that Alonso is blessed with pace, but according to YOUR article pace is vital  in the holding role :p So Alonso is either a cr@p holding player or a good deep lying playmaker - your choice

None!! My article is just my article, a post, not my opinion!  :D Thanks for highlighting my point repeteadly!!

About pace, Alonso isn't, neither was Koeman in that position, neither was Mauro Silva in that position!!, you see? articles are articles!! don't believe them!! they might be done by Oasis, or a Mánc, or a journalist who for that matter knows fúck all about football!! Never echo that opinions without contrasting those to your OWN opinions!! not only in football press eh? It's also handy for everything else.

Anyway if you need to be right desperately I can grant it to you and consider him a "deep-lying-playmaker" in english, which translated to Spanish it eventually will be "holding midfielder"

Interesting articles anyway, and good reads, both of us could find excellent articles, but I preffer my opinions rather than that. For good footbal articles, it's better to go to specialised forums of coachs rather than to press articles.

You win, he's a "Deep-playing-playmaker"  :grinning: Excuse me, "Deep-lying-playmaker". Or DLP, which sounds nice.

Who said that losing Alonso won't be a bad thing Lando??? I never read that in the thread!!  :suspect: What a heap of cráp losing a good player must be bad for LFC. It would be bad if Sissoko left the club, let alone Alonso.

Ah, it was him.

Ah, well . Never mind.

must try harder.

anyway how is your team doing, real sociedad isnt it?

the way you gone anyone would think you were an ex pro as oppossed to some armchair fan who basically knows nothing about my club, who decided to support us when alonso came and will no doubt disapear when alonso goes.

your football knowledge is ok i suppose, nothing special, but hey no one can disagree with your opinions or we all get bored with a lengthy post about how you think you are right.

sabre its getting boring, i have moved on ages ago, i had my fun, now its boring to log in and see your little digs.

pathetic, grow up

i wonder how we have managed to survive with all these players leaving, oh wait, i know we replaced them other players.

i cant be bothered with a long post about this, one will suffice to show how lame your argument is

keegan- dalglish, yeah we did really bad out of losing one of our best players in keegan, no wait, we didnt do bad out of it, what am i saying?     :D  (look in the history books, i appreciate you only became a red 3 years ago so you knowledge will be limited on this)

unless you are suggesting that we are a one man team and alonso is the best player in the world who will never be bettered. alonso isnt even the best player at liverpool.

at least think about your post before you send it, you comment on my knowledge of football and come out with corkers like that
