Another gritty performance and a key win.  Another goal would have been useful but I'll take the clean sheet and the away goal.  Mascherano was my MOM and Voronin was outstanding as well.  Sissoko (ours) played very well when he came on, with some nice deft touches on the ball.  Not sure Torres benefited a great deal from this cameo: a physical game in the heat, defending a lead but he put in a decent shift.  Hard to judge Babel's performance as he didn't seem to be on the ball all that much, TBH.  Crouch played well in the thankless "Kuyt" role.  Let's hope Stevie's foot's fine and that all the lads are up for Chelsea on Sunday!

A really bore win! quality showed the end result really, Toulouse are an average side and they did a couple of good runs, but really they didn't offer a huge threat against us. Mascherano had a really good game, tackled and closed down the Toulouse midfield very well. In the first Half Babel showed alot of skills on the ball and alot of pace, looks like a really good prospect we have.

Voronin scored a very nice goal, but other than that he was quite, didn't offer much except his well taken goal.

BRING IT ON CHELSEA!

I disagree Badbob, Voronin wasn't outstanding, I don't think he made alot of chances for himself to give the defenders something to worry about.

Masch and Gerrard were outstanding IMO.

We made hard work of it second half, but a win is a win. Toulouse looked a team of big 6footers and weren't frightened of using their size, but I thought we coped well. Great goal by Voronin , just as we all expected before the season started. I thought Mascherano stepped up a gear when Gerrard went off and showed his class.

Pretty much the post I'd have wrote, and agree with the MOTM. Mascherano was quality. But I think Crouch was pretty dire. He really offered nothing up front apart from a target to hit with long balls, and it's this sort of game that I hate to see us play, especially with the attacking options we now have. The game near put me to sleep. Toulouse were pretty poor. I don't know how they expected to knick one against us with their attitude. Fabio's goal was a minter, though. Didn't see that coming. I wonder how much that goal will be worth, seeing we got him for free. Quality. Good win, and comfortable like I expected. Leave Crouch out and Anfield for the second leg and let's make an example out of them, eh Rafa?

A win is a win, and if it was as hot as they were saying then fair enough. We should easily beat them at Anfield now and that is the only thing I care about, Winning!!!!

Bring on chavski, I have a good feeling we'll wipe the floor with them, We have to play the Voronator though.

A good away win, and away goal and a clean sheet. The performance wasn't brilliant, but it was professional. Bring on Chelsea.

Didn't see it, although I have seen Voronin's goal. Hopefully everyone still not convinced is now awake to the fact that he's a cut above your average make-up-the-numbers squad player.

2 away games.
2 away wins.

No complaints here whatsoever. Get a home win on Sunday and that's a fantastic first week's work.

I only managed to watch the 2nd half.. But I did see didn't impress me much.

It was not a deserved win, we were attacked upon attacked from Toulouse. Much of the processions belong to them. Again we play the "plague" ball style. Yes.. "plague" ball. Because everytime one of our players got the ball, the rest run away from him as far as possible. If they can they would hide even among the spectators. How much creativity can be generated from such game plan is for everyone to see... zilch

It seems to me Carragher is the playmaker. He would paused for a while take a few look then whoops it up all the way to nobody.... Some times it reached Crouchie, sometimes to Voronin and Torres but most of the time to the opposition and Mr Nobody. If Mr Nobody is a player he would win Man of the Match..

In this match the tactitian thinks it is a good idea to attack only from the middle. Not much from the wings if you ask me. Babel went fishing.. i meant missing for a while. Pennant.. man that chap works hard... defending that is.

Passing is usually atrocious. Can't string more than 5 passes without losing the ball. It seems Liverpool players can't handle opposition that tends to rush into them or close them down quickly. It freaks them out, causing them to get rid of the ball ASAP without thinking. Maybe Rafa should work on improving this. Let loose a group of school children and let the players one by one dribble from one end to the other without loosing the ball. Now that is great control...

Keeping possessions is important. So no need to say why or how... everybody knows it.

There is still a big gap in the middle (sometimes) during our attack. Really need to plug it to grab a rebound or shoot from outside the penalty box. Everybody seems to be waiting for other people to do it....

This is just an opinion from watching just now, hope the team really improve on our weaknesses. Cheers.

A good result in the circumstances.

Good performances from Mascher, Arbeloa, JC, Sami, Babel and Voronin.

Now for the Sh*tski scum...
