how about mascherano for a direct swap with ibrahimavic

a nice partner for torres, or a decent replacment if he goes or is injured

I agree but I think Barca would only do a swap for Torres

Mascherano for Ibra; would take it in a heart beat. Ibra and Torres would break a few nets. The likes of Bolton away would be less of a problem.

Mascherano is an immense player especially in a team of stars. I think Liverpool have already a workman type team so I think his impact at barca would be more significant.

but Barca already has Pedro and Bojan who were utilized more. i doubt they will take another striker though they have a reason to buy Mash as Toure is leaving.

I would like Joe Cole in our team....but it would mean that we would have to move the club to london.

it seems spurs might have a look at him, but his wage will be high.

If they can sell Ibrahimovich they will make a try for Torres. But even then they couldn't afford him outright. It would have to be a player plus cash deal.

Thierry Henry has been released hasnt he? i hear he might go to the States but he's worth the try though. i could see him providing Torres with plenty of assists.

For me I'd pull out all the stops to get Joe Cole, just the sort of player we need, either him or Van Der Vaart.

Think Ibrahimavic's an absolute D'ick, a total show pony.

Never mind Mascherano, don't think I'd even exchange Lucas for him .  :kungfu:

Although Roy has said no one will leave I think it's inevitable that he will want more than £15m to re-jig the squad and I predict the following -

Yossi has already gone and I expect Riera to go soon as well.

I then expect Mascherano to go after the WC and I expect him to move to Barca (although my preference would be Inter with Cambiasso coming in the other direction). If Mascha does move as expected that leaves a BIG gap in CM and one I am not sure who we would replace him with. Javi Martinez has been quoted but he is young and I also think that it may have been Rafa who was the driving force behind this rumour. I am unsure as to who we could bring in too replace Mascha.

Kuyt - Don't want him to go but I think he might follow Rafa
Ngog - he will be sold on
Kyrgiakos - either released or sold on

So...

Yossi - £5m
Riera - £6m
Kuyt - £10m
Mascherano - £30m
Kyrgiakos - Bag of chips and a can of Irn Bru
Ngog - £1m

I don't think the above figures are unrealistic and add that the reported £15m Roy has been promised we are looking at a £66m kitty to play with this summer.

Maybe I am just playing fantasy league football but I reckon that kind of money could secure a LOT of good players that would add strength in depth to the squad. Something we haven't had for the past 3 season.

Too much can happen between now and the start of the season but one player we'd do well to look at is Alex Hleb. His loan at Stuttgart has ended and Barca will probably accept offers for him. At 29 I doubt he'd cost the earth or command massive wages.
