some changes announced today for the Europa league to come into effect from 2015.
the winner will automatically qualify for the group stage of the champions league the following season along with the the previous winners of the CL even if they finish outside of the qualifying places.

its a step in the right direction imo and will give a great incentive to clubs who qualify for the EL to have a real go at it.
chances are though it will still be won by a team dropped from the CL anyway but it does mean that a 5th place finish would be good enough if an english club were to win either the CL or EL and finish in the top 4

Good change IMO. This will make it easier for the none top teams in the bigger leagues to qualify for the CL.

Finally... some real incentive to go for it. Now if they just stop CL drop outs from entering then it would be a good improvement all round.
