I said something similar above. A high profile in Europe is what attracts players like Torres and Mascherano to the club.

We need the squad we do have to stay fit and to focus on the bread and butter, we're slipping fast and we don't need this draining comp on top of what is already going to be a battle in itself next season to make 100,000 grand here and there. Loosing a player like Torres to this cup would not warrant the finances the comp offers.

I kinda agree.  The main area of focus should be the PL and hopefully we can push for fourth or possibly even better.

but the top class players are not always happy to just focus on the bread and butter.  They signed for Liverpool to compete for trophies on 3 - 4 fronts.

The scary thing is.. Stevie and Carra are both past 30 now.  And i don't see any Liverpool youths coming through the ranks.  or even English for that matter.  its always the English players that have the hunger for the PL. (or at least a good balance of English - foreign).  Foreign players seem to be more interested in the CL and don't show as much loyalty

We shouldn't be risking key players in these games. The senior players (if still at the club) - Gerrard, Carragher, Torres, Mascherano, etc will probably get extended rest due to World Cup commitments. Surely the Arsenal game at home is far more important than the Europa League.

What those who might accept/want Woy also have to realise is that Woy might well want to stamp his mark on a cup, knowing that will buy him time, so don't expect him to come in and write off cups and not "risking key players in these games".

Kenny knows what the fans want, he knows we need to be back in the top four and making a title challenge in the next 2-4 years. He knows mickey mouse isn't our style, he's done Europe and he's won the league as player, player-manager and manager - just a shame he couldn't manage us in Europe. (and the bitters complain, we suffered most out of the ban considering we were the big gun in Europe, they just talk up their chances)

Hope we get knocked out as soon as possible.  Top four finish is by far the biggest priority.
