He was terrible against Arsenal and he's been terrible all season long. The fact is the fella is 32 years old, he's played less football than Van Persie over the last few years and he cannot adapt to Rodgers's style of play. He tries to thread through balls through the eye of the needle and this is often ineffective and led to Podolski scoring for Arsenal last weekend. We need to plan a future without Gerrard and the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

You dont know what your talking about...

He is still the club captain, and captain of England.

Sort your head out lad.  ???

Coming from someone who rates Spearing higher than Shelvey I'll take everything you say with a lorryload of salt.

Personally I'd rather we play Shelvey than Stevie, until he bucks his ideas up and starts playing for the team again. I'd also take the captaincy off him as he clearly has feck all ability to motivate himself let alone the rest of the lads.

He also managed to get sent off in the process.

Thought that was his best performance of the season and his radar was back. Pinged some fantastic long balls, best player today.

Gerrard disappeared again today.

Gerrard said post match,..

"Today we tried hard and although we were 1-0 down at half-time, for the 90 minutes I thought we completely controlled the game. "You saw our performance today and I think that's a message that it won't be very long for us. The first win is just around the corner and let's hope that's against Manchester United next week."

I must have been watching a different match. Stevie these days only cares about how much is in his bank each month!

I personally don't think we will beat Man Utd for our first three points next week, with that line up/ system, and you can quote me on that after the game, any of you.

Only a matter of time before the chop comes.

Considering that he is competing with Allen, Henderson, Shelvey, Lucus and Sahin for one of the 3 midfield spots, does Gerrard really warrant being one of the first names on the team sheet based on form this season and over the last 2 years? Sure he is a club legend and is still capable of putting in an excellent performance but they are very rare nowadays. I just get the feeling that sentiment is overruling reality and at some point this season if things don’t change he will need to be dropped.

REALLY ?

Steven Gerrard, a man who is being judged on what he can do is competing with the likes of Allen, Henderson, Shelvey, Lucus and Sahin.

A player who is capable of changing games in an instant is being compared with, how can I put it?, newcomers who have proved nothing? yeah, I will go with that. How can Gerrard warrant a place in the first team?

Ugh, I truly despair...

That instant would be best served as an impact substitute.....

Stevie being honest http://www.tfbets.com/news/97977/steven-gerrard-title-miracle-oddsbut will surely believe title is achievable if they make the right decisions and get the right players in over the next 4-5 years he has left.

The things he is saying now are bring home to me the realties of the situation. Hes probably right about not winning the league, which is such a massive shame to someone as gifted as him
I realised today that I will cry my eyes out when he hangs his boots up. But I hope he stays with us as long as he lives

Stevie's a one-off. He could have gone anywhere - Real, Barca, Bayern or Inter Milan where he would have won leagues and cups galore and had a smile as wide as the Mersey permenantly across his face, instead he stayed at Liverpool. He didn't even go to Chelsea where he could have had a greater degree of success.

I can't think of another player who decided against the 'easy option' and stayed at his boyhood club. Matt Letissier did it, but he was ***** in comparison.
