But why was it a lucky bumbling run in the cup ?

They were extremely lucky against Juventus, who could see themselves as being robbed by the officials in the game at Craven Cottage. One of Fulhams goals was a complete fluke too.

They smashed Juventus at home about 4-1 didnt they  ???

But understand that wasnt down to Roy and his team being good, it was down to Juventus being awful.  :D

i think roy won that award purely for getting fulham to a uefa final and not their league standing at the end of the season.
but that doesent explain why the premier league gave him this award as finishing 12th is nothing to crow about.
for fulhams history it was a great year and it didnt harm roy either as suddenly he went from a clueless manager to being linked with the england job and then the lfc job.he waited till capello came out and said he was staying till after the euro's so then he chose us but england was always his preferred choice.

i thought after the wolves game he copped on with the backlash he got and realised he has to up his game.changed the set up v bolton and we were so much better.you have to wonder if the stevie for merieles sub wasnt forced ,would we of got the same result as stevie would have only featured for the last 10-15mins and wouldnt have had so much impact on the game.
reports in todays paper suggest he will rest stevie and nando for the trip to blackburn,if he does he deserves what he gets as how can you build on a performance if you wont play the same team.
the stick he gets here is nothing to what he would get if he had of taking the poison chalice.

people keep doing this.
am trying to steer clear of arguments in the new year. Little resolution but who loves Roy ?
I think he has done a poor job but to say he did at Fulham last season and say they stuttered through the europa league last season and were lucky to beat Juve, when it was 4-1 and they hit the woodwork 3 times in the first half is just silly.

it's a consipiracy i tell ye, Juventus should have won 12-0, but Roy had Whiskey nose ring the ref before the game to influence him!  :D

Evening all... it feels :censored: to be back. Even worse to see Roy is still here.

That was the second leg. Juventus were 4-1 up agg after they scored, so Fulham needed at least 3 more just to tie. Now, if you'd watched that game, they were a bit dodgy until the ref made a bit of a bollox up of sending off Canavaro. Of course that doesn't help an away team, especially when the ref then gives them another kick in the bollox by giving a penalty for hand ball when the ball is hit almost point blank range into the hand of a defender. They were very lucky. I'm not forming that opinion based on my view of my dislike for the imposter of a manager we have now. I had the same view when I watched it then live, and after. It was an entertaining game to watch as a neutral, and as a neutral then and now, my view is the same: Juventus got robbed by the officials.

Makes me wonder though. If Juventus knocked Fulham out, would Hodgson be the manager of this club today? Would he have gotten that LMA award? Highly unlikely IMO.

Well, Bav, welcome back to the only known thread in a Liverpool forum on the internet that has more than a grand total of 3 Roy Hodgson supporters on it. At least it keeps the conversation and debate going in two directions, so that's a bonus.
