good signing...obviously we're paying over the odds a tad (i value the lad at 12-13 million) but he's a proven premiership player and will be a worth wearer of the 7 shirt.

Keane has scored goals at every club he has played with (except Inter Milan and thats only because they wouldn't give him a game).  He has also scored goals at the world cup.  We've paid big money for him but hes a proven premiership goal scorer and thats what we need right now instead of taking a chance with a foreigner.

Keane works very hard for the team, which is a pre-requisite in a team managed by Rafa but most importantly he will score when the chances come along and on top of that he is a great penalty taker.

Top player, phenomenal for spurs last season. Fingers crossed should be a fantastic foil for Torres.

Welcome to the greatest club in the world lad!

number 7 ? damn i wanted him to take the number 10 shirt and leave the 7 shirt for a decent left sided attacker

I wonder how long it will be before "The Football Manager" experts compile a list of who we could have bought for the same money ( I reckon if he hasn't scored by the first two games the knives will be out ).

Does the signing of Keane and the long and boring pursuit of Barry mean that Raffa is going to have a real crack at the League this coming season, is he buying ready made Premiership players to bring us number 19 ?

Does he feel that we maybe struck lucky with the way Torres adapted so quickly, and maybe Villa would be to much of a gamble, or did he just not have the funds.

I await the coming season with my usual self belief that this will be our year, just as I do every other season :;):

David Villa would have been too expensive and is unproven in the Prem.

Too much of a gamble. Better to go with Keane, who's the same age, but has Prem experience.

It's a good signing.

Keane always wanted to play at Liverpool and I am very happy he has eventually made it.

Always been a favourite player of mine and I was surprised it took us so long to make a move for him. Its a fair price to pay for a footballer aged 28 but considering its alleged Tevez is worth just over £32m I reckon we have a bargain!

Things is they are all over priced and when you want to take a rivals best player away they want big compensation and you cannot blame them for that.

I have no doubt he will be a hit at Anfield and theres not many you can say that about even a player like Villa. Keane is a sure thing and after some dissapointing recruits we need that peace of mind.

All being well he will slot in the role Gerrard played just in behind Torres and with Steve G back in midfield I dont see how we can wrong really with that. Its an exciting signing for sure.
