Im not to impressed by him TBH he wasnt a player I wanted here anyway.
Time will tell.
Keane thrives on attacking football, but we dont play that stuff.
Mistake? YES i think he will turn out to be a flop.

How patronising is that statement? Do new posters need 100 posts before talking any sense?

I know and if you try to have a joke with him or refer to him as lad he goes off on one spitting venom about being patronised, nob jockey.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about d1ckhead. Calling someone "lad" is patronising, talking down to someone as if you're their superior. I meant no such relationship, Tony has come on here and is already a good poster.

You should look in the mirror before criticising me, you've obviously got a giant chip on your shoulder and looking for any excuse to have digs at me. GROW UP

I have already said it and received massive criticism;

Keane is average.

Spending 18 millions on that is ridiculous. With 18 millions you expect a young quick hungry striker with good attitude and winner mentality.

Evans had Heskey
Houllier had Diouf
Now Benitez may have made a similar mistake (which will cost him his manager job eventually?)

load of bollx

Keane will come good but it will take time to gel with torres.
Crouch took something like 12 games or so before he scored so lets give Keane a chance eh. He's an intellegent player that just needs to find his place in this Liverpool side.

20+ million for Robbie though is mad money IMHO, just like 18 mil for Barry is a farce. Keane's always been strong for Spurs, but he disappears for the National side quite often. I know that's no guage for the premiership, but it's still a worry.

I still can't wait to see how the pair (Torres & Keane) flesh out during the season.

A fellow Dub - welcome the best LFC fans forum there is, mate...
Though I have to say, if his performances for Liverpool are anything like those for the Rep., then I'd happily sell him to the knacker's yard along with Voronin.
I've a pain in me hoop watching Keane disappear from games, moan at the ref, fall down when a defender breathes on him etc...And there's no way I'd tolerate that for Liverpool (yeah, like I have any say in the matter  :upside:  )

He has looked totally lost in our team, things will probably improve once he plays with gerrard and Masch on a regular basis though.

Or it could be just that Torres is suited better playing on his own.

How about playing him in the position that he played for Spurs? Just a suggestion like.

I think he is trying to play a role that he can't play..... creative second striker. Once he starts playing as an out an out striker I think he will get goals and start to play better. He's not a world beater, he never was, but he is a good player and I have no worries that if he plays alongside Torres rather than trying to create goals for Torres he will be a success.

in fairness we had a style of play design for gerrard and torres, and that took 4-5 months to develop last year.

it'll take time for all the team to come to realise how to use keane and for him to fit in himself.

no doubt a few games to go on that front :p
