I agree but one thing I will say is he isnt the type of striker that suits running on to through balls.
He is more the player that drops into the hole and wants to be playing them.
For Southampton he would more often that not drop deeper and then play in Rodriguez who'd start deeper and make later runs.
To me it looks like we have signed two strikers in Lambert and Balotelli that the manager doesnt know how to play them to get the best out of them.
Sabre looks like a big lezzer

Cant argue with any of that mate,I've  said before in terms of Mario its almost like a kid with a new toy who hasn't a clue how to use it ,and I suppose the same could
be true for Lambert.

Todays Express reporting this...

Rickie Lambert may end up moving back to Southampton on loan in January to boost his chances of staying in the England squad, the Express reports.

Lambert has seen his chances at Liverpool limited since he joined from the Saints in the summer, given Brendan Rodgers' perseverance with Mario Balotelli. Liverpool are thought to be on the lookout for another striker to solve their problems in front of goal, and Lambert could be a casualty.

Just how poor was he today, I think 4m was too much, we would have been better off paying an extra 4m and got Remy

To be fair he's been doing okay recently, he scored against Ludogrets, scored against Palace, hit the bar against Stoke (which led to Johnson's goal) and knocked a header down for Lallana to score our equaliser against Leicester.
Because we only play with 1 up front we really need our AM's like Sterling and Coutinho to start chipping in with goals too, we can't just rely on a 4 million pound 30 something to pull us out of the shyte, others need to start turning up and contributing as well

I thought he was ok, good touch, good control and holds up the ball too.

Just not effective enough

If he wasn't a scouser he would be ripped apart on these forums.

I agree lambert has escaped his critics very well  :nod
Others choose to justify it with the fee paid but bottom line is that he was never good enough to earn a move here in the first place let alone be playing 90 mins week in week out.

We paid 4m for Lambert, so didn't expect him to light the team on fire. He is decent, nothing more

Carroll on the other hand.... :Oo:

Carroll is having a stormer today against Swansea, he's scored two headers and also got an assist.
Whatever you say about his style of play he is certainly a handful for any defence
