RICKIE LAMBERT - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Boocity » Wed Dec 10, 2014 5:18 pm

Spot on, imagine what's going through these lads heads when the first team are struggling to score every week and in a must win game he chooses a striker with Lamberts limitations and from what we are led to believe knackered and running on empty as the only striker selected for the squad. They must be thinking, what's the point

Lambert was ridiculously poor against Wimbledon. Just what Balotelli has done to upset Rogers to the extent that he can't get a game ahead of Lambert against a 4th division team bewilders me. I'm no fan of Balotelli but Rogers idiotic stubbornness nearly cost us this game. At least Balotelli contributed when he came on. Murphy in commentary made the point that the service to Lambert was poor which it was but just what did Lambert do to help the situation - NOTHING !!

Lambert was utter pants v AFC Wimbledon.  Oh what a come down from last season watching Suarez and Sturridge tear defences to pieces and now junk like Lambert and Balotelli plodding away. What in good god was BR thinking bringing this kind of junk to the club

Talk in the morning papers that Palace are in for Lambert.. maybe our silver tongued manager can persuade them to take Borini as well

Heard a whisper spurs may look at him as an option on loan. Not sure that really benefits us so doubtful it will happen

I get the reason for signing this lad (he's a plan B striker) but let's be honest, it hasn't worked out.

I'd sell for whatever we can get.

Thought the big fella's goal was taken with real aplomb ,perhaps he's better with the ball delivered to his feet than religiously hitting lofted balls to his head ......go figure.

It's one of Rodgers big mistakes for me this season, Rickie is much better in the number 10 role with people making runs off him. That's where he played for Southampton with Rodriguez and lallana running off him. Great goal yesterday for him.

Think he may be going out on loan (maybe to one of the following - Leicester, Palace, Hull and West Brom?), along with an academy player, Ojo, though not sure where he may end up, there are a couple of options!

Selling or sending him on loan now is hardly beneficial to us.  What happens if Sturridge gets injured again?
Then we have Balotelli and Borini.

We should wait until summer and sell all 3 of Balotelli, Lambert and Borini.  unless 1 shows a huge improvement in the next few months.  (And actually scores a few goals!)

I agree, keep him until the summer and use him for the Waffer Cup matches.

In the summer both Lambert and Borini should be shown the door and told that they have no future here.

However, I'd be tempted to keep Mario, because unlike the other two, he has bags of ability. It's just a case of unlocking it.

He is a squad player and that hasn't been working out too well for him of late so if he wants to play regular then he will have to go.
Can't say I'm to bothered about it TBH as I'd rather see the game time going to Ibe.

What's the point of him even.being at Anfield If Br isn't going to play him, not even if Sturridge is out,.instead playing Llalana, Coutinho and Stevie in a threevup front.
Why is he even.here?
You may as well.just throw him up front as a lone striker, see him he can.nick a goal.
Otherwise, Wat is the point!!!!

Br if u ain't gonna play him...get rid!
