In principle reasonable players however sometimes, people just run out of steam. They lose their motivation (Johnson), take a slip in form and struggle to get it back (Minge), lose their pace as age takes it's toll (SG and Skittle) and simply aren't good enough but they find themselves in the front line anyway (Borini and Lucas). I don't blame Lambert for anything, he was brought in as a back up with little expectation and he's not been given much chance so more fool BR.
All I would say is that if you were piecing a team together to challenge for the league, you wouldn't have any of these players in the 1st XI bar maybe the goalie.
The problem is the transfer policy not the players. If some idiot threw big bucks at me, I'd stand on the centre spot at Anfield as well.
