Rafa transfer frustration

Parry & Moores in no rush to accept Kraft's millions

Rafael Benitez has admitted that he wants to sign more players to strengthen his squad but is prevented from doing so because of a lack of funds at Anfield.

The manager is keen to add more players to his squad to help mount a serious challenge in the Champions League and to help climb up the Premiership table but with the board unable to deliver a decent transfer kitty for him, he's admitted he'll have to work with what he's got.

Unable to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the transfer market, Liverpool continue to fall further and further behind which is a concern for all of us and not just the boss.

Rafa said: "They both have a better squad with more senior players and more expensive players. They have spent a lot of money and we know that we we need to try and control the market and scout all the time and try and find the best players for us in the future.

"All managers want new players and better players if it is possible. We are trying to find new players but we don't have a lot of money. If we don't find these players then as I say we have a good team and a good squad of players who are working very hard."

Liverpool have so far rejected several investment offers from local businessman Steve Morgan but remain in talks with the L4 consortium which consists of Liverpool duo Mike Jefferies and Stuard Ford plus Liverpool FC legend Kenny Dalglish. The Kraft family from the States are the consortium's primary investor. Rumours suggest that there are other high profile names involved with the group which are yet to be made public.

GMM Grammy chief Paiboon Damrongchaitham is still in the running and there's a possibility that another investor is lurking but we understand they would have no more clout than Damrongchaitham or Morgan. Morgan however could join the L4 bid to add strength to their take-over attempt.

Word from Anfield suggests that chief executive Rick Parry favours a sub 30% investment rather than an actual take-over. If a take-over took place it is likely that a complete overhaul at the club would take place with only Rafael Benitez and his staff safe from the bullets that would follow.

We're aware of certain faces in the Liverpool board room that have opposing views to Rick Parry but we really have no idea which way things will pan out. We just hope something gets sorted for Rafa in time for next season because it's a bigger distraction than most supporters realise. Plus nobody wants to see skipper Steven Gerrard leave in the summer.

f@ck the both of them LFC is what's important, People talk about our club like it's a has been pub football team which is broke.

I am so uncertain about what rd we are going down as a club it's not even funny, all the talk of love and loyalty and "Family Club" will NOT save us form mediocraty on the pitch if ego's and cutting of noses to spite certain faces is not dealt with sharpish.

I'll tell you what...I'm an American, from Boston, and the Kraft family owns our American football team, the New England Patriots. They turned the team from absolute ****** to a dynasty, and they're regarded as among the best owners in American sports. I'm all for them.

yeh but theirs a big difference from american football to english football

if the kraft family took over liverpool, it would be like a yoga instructor taking over richard bransons job or a yoga instructor taking bill gates's job
it will never work, im sorry but the lack of knowledge of football will utterly hurt us, would you like a yoga instructor being the top head of liverpool???

 what the hell are you on about? ???  :D

p.s. the difference between english and american football is that english football is good where as american football is a cure for insomnia.  :D  :D

im saying it would be the WRONG MOVE if the kraft family took over, im saying that it would be like a yoga instructor taking over at microsoft, complete implosion. Andy if you owned a drug store, and you would be gone for a while, would you want someone who only knows about tea kettles to run your drug store. I DONT THINK SO
the kraft family would be as bad as a move if the brothers from good charlotte took over as chairman at liverpool.

i'm sure the kraft family don't only know about cheese. besides the L4 consortium in which their money is involved includes such people as kenny dalglish who knows a thing or two about the game and the club.

how much does abramovich know about football, i wonder...?

My main concern is that he would use us as a gateway to improve the American league and the commercialisim of that league as that will be his priority which could be great for us short term but not long term
