carragher...
shaky start to the season but has been brilliant for quite some time now...
no shining star so far this season.... lets see how it goes in athens !
gerrard might just get a vital goal in our last game and all of a sudden hes player of the season yet again !

looks like carra atm tho..

Finnan for me, we didnt realise how much we miss him in the team until we played Chelsea in the champs league, the best way to sum him up?

Carra for me this season, Gerrard, Finnan, Reina (after a very shaky start)and Agger honourable mentions.

carra, shown his quality again, the guy is a rock (ignoring the few mistakes he has made, nobody is perfect). he doesnt need england caps to show he is better then ferdinand or terry

Agger. What a smooth transition into Sami's role, with us for another 7 years.

And the lad doesnt appear in this list - or that of the Echo poll of the same... er... subject.

agger has done well, no doubt about that but i think without the quality next to him in carragher he may not have looked as good.

definitley quality though and its good to see the way he brings the ball out from the back, reminicent of hansen in his pomp and thats a compliment. lets hope he gets to be half as good as hansen and we will have a world class defender in agger

I'd vote for Agger too, because yesteryear I was worried sick about our replacement for Centre Backs, and here he is, the future of our CBs with a very good, suprisingly good for a young CB, season.

If there's no Agger in the poll, I'd vote for Reina, he's as important as anyone but Keepers do not receive the credir they deserve.

Funnily enough I do not think that any player has been a standout this season. It would be hard to pick the best one.
