Peter crouch un-dropable?

Crouch is doing his job and that is to score goals and create them.
I still think the jury is out on Crouch and as silly as this sounds , it's because he is not your conventional looking striker. If you look back at the "West Ham v Liverpool " thread there were plenty posts saying to replace him and how wasteful he was until he scored.

Crouch frustrates the hell out off me.  His passing was off yesterday but still he done very well for the goal.  The thing that gets to me about Crouch is how shiteee he is at heading the ball.  He cant head a ball properly, ok he can but it hardly ever seems to happen.  Rafa needs to show him how to head a ball in training, use your neck muslces for :censored:ss sake.

Peter Crouch adds alot to our team, and is always unfairly slated about his distinct lack of goals. Crouch will never be a 20 goal a season player, he just doesn't have the pedigree, but he is a really decent player; defenders just don't know how to mark him, sometimes 3 or 4 defenders try mark him which leaves gapping holes. Crouch also has a great touch, he has virtually no pace but makes up for that in his skill and intelligence. Him and Garcia usally link up well, so i can see Peter and Craig linking up well together. It is going to be tough for Rafa to decide who to play, Crouch or Kuyt, Bellamy or Fowler.

kuyt and bellamy will be rafa's favourable strike force (i hope)

people are too keen to thank crouch and claim he's now a liverpool great. in my eyes, he's not a good footballer - he's just an annoyance for the opposition. you could play elton john or michael jordan up front and get a similar return.

fact of the matter is, how many times have you seen crouch landed with a golden opportunity to score and he doesnt? he scores the odd goal in a game where any other striker no doubt would have got his hat-trick.

have you ever seen him strike the ball sweetly, coz i STILL havent (even thought i thought 'striker' was a clue to that attribute being important). I've NEVER seen him SHOOT like a striker is expected to.

He cant header, cant shoot, he has no pace, no strength, no balance - like i sed 'a distraction' (elton john would be even better in this position)

and to finish - if he was still at southampton, do you think he'd have an england cap yet?

FU.CK NO!

Thats one of the best posts on this forum. Totally agree with everything there!

...like i said - elton john mate; he'd scare the poo out of most defenders except gary neville.

do you realise what u've just said? - "we seem to play our game around him, and his knockdowns." - we aint feckin wimbeldon fc! put a dcent FOOTBALLER in the team and we wont need to play hyppia-to-crouch long balls and 'play our game around him!'

he's been here over a year now - y can he not header a ball properly yet? somebody please tell me? please? ?????

stop jumping on the bandwagon just becoz the lamp post has scored 5 goals in 5 games. ppl find it convenient to point out his recent scoring record when we're winning but what were we ALL pointing at when it took him 19 - yes NINETEEN - games to score for liverpool? ???

september 17th my ar.se - it wasnt the beginning of last season that cost us the title last season; it wasnt even chelsea - it was benitez's persistant with selecting a non-firing basketball player he'd bought up front

...ok maybe i went a bit far with the last bit, but u get the idea  :)
we've only won it 5 times

Anyone who can’t see the positive difference that Crouch made to the team last year simply hasn’t been watching the games. He is and never will be a top quality striker but he has a lot of desirable attributes that have been talked about many times before. Like his touch, his ability to hold the ball up, his ability and willingness to bring others into play and obviously his awkward height which gives us another option.

I believe he has the ability to hit 15 league goals is he plays regularly. He may not be guaranteed a first team spot anymore what with w new strikers coming in but since he has been here we have always looked a better team when he has been playing.

It’s nothing to do with defenders being scared of him. His biggest influence in the team is his ability and willingness to hold the ball up and allow others to join up with the attack and his willingness to play the ball to them and make himself available. It seems a very simple thing but many players lack this, it is a hugely valuable asset for a team to have, and I’m glad we have it.

i dont think anyones jumping on the bandwagon lad, they just have more than two brain cells unlike yourself. And real liverpool supporters supported crouch when he went on his drought coz they appreciate what he does for the team

if it wasnt for crouch last season we wouldnt have got as many points as we did so try putting your two braincells into gear and think about something other than his appearance, like can he actually play football and is he good for the team, the answer is yer, its about footy not wether hes good looking enough for him to get into your wet dreams lad

Crouch is never going to be a player who will be the first name mentioned when we talk about beautiful football, but when we need to grind out a result against a hard working, tough tackling team, he is a player that is sorely missed when he is not there. He is a better footballer than some credit him, and is always a handful for any defender to cope with.
He will never be amongst my favourite players but he is effective, scores and creates goals for those around him and works hard. I dont expect him to play every game that he is available for now Kuyt has arrived , but I expect he will play a significant part in our successful EPL title win this season.
Peter Crouch un-dropable no - Peter Crouch great asset to the team yes.
