If Suarez is still at the club when the window closes do we sit him on the bench because we bought Aspas ? I wouldn't think so - so if Pepe is here at the end of the window then why should he sit on the bench when he is the better GK ?

The stats say he is better

Last season Pepe had more clean sheets and conceded less

Can you point out some examples of Pepe being woeful

Last season he was left isolated by tactics - the season before our defensive record was second only to City

If you can come up with some examples of Pepe being woeful ( something no one has managed yet )

Over the weekend he said that Reina leaving was more a financial choice because of the wages Pepe was on we could afford to have him on the bench - which of course went again what he initally said about competition for places and having two strong GK's.

Initially, it was never about competition or Pepe's wages. If Reina hadn't been flirting with Barcelona in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation. But he did and he obviously wanted to leave, and as jacdaniel posted above, Rodgers had to act quickly. Since Barca pulled out, we have a world class high earner on the bench. We don't have many choices I guess.

I love the way some say pepe had been flirting with barca   without one shred of evidence or a quote from the player saying so.  also barca never enquired either about the player so it amazes me that they could then pull out of something they were never in.
rodgers claims he was told by reina's agent to expect a bid a few months back. just because we were expecting a bid did not mean that we had to sell or sign a replacement as pepe is contracted till 2016 so there was no rush. there is also over 5 weeks to go so we didnt need to be so hasty.
imo rodgers doesnt rate pepe and probably doesnt like the influence he has, he was dropped last season and rodgers said he was injured only for pepe's agent to come out and say he wasnt. that was before christmas so for me the writing was on the wall. his wages is a problem if he is sitting on the bench but not if he is playing and once rodgers brought in his man there was only going to be one outcome despite the line been trotted about competition for the greater good.
now it ends up being a mess, he's off to napoli on loan and we could be paying some of his wages. he could have a great season for napoli but his fee is not going to increase as we dont want him back because of his wage. we will be lucky to get £6mil for him next season.
if pepe was to go then so be it but the proper thing to do was wait till there was a buyer in place so that any fee could be reinvested rather than jump the gun on hearsay and be left with a mess of a situation.

Woeful mate that's a bit strong. Definitely not the player he was though and this certainly confirms that: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editor ... pers-slips

The 2012/2013 season really wasn't a lot better.I think a change for Liverpool and Pepe is not the worst thing to happen.I am concerned that along with Carra we are losing another senior highly respected member of the team.

Over the past few seasons he has cost us valuable points. The city game where he went walkies and we conceded to an Fantastic Aguero goal.

Can you point out all the points he has lost us ?

Then compare it to the missed chances from other players or the defensive howlers from the CB's

Is the Aguero goal the only instance ?

He made quite a few errors that cost us matches it was obvious. Go back to match threads and look it up. He was not as good the past couple of seasons and that was plain to see. He also did flirt with Barcelona talking about what an honour it would be to play for them (his father also). We will miss his leadership but we were wise to get another keeper. It is too important a position to have someone who's mind is elsewhere. I would rather a keeper with a point to prove.

Agger made mistakes so did Carra and GJ and Enrique and Lucas and Gerrard - mistakes that cost us goals - have they been called woeful ? If anything Agger has made more mistakes than Pepe over the last couple of seasons.

If it obvious he made quite a few errors what were they then ?

As for flirting with Barce - he mentioned once about it being an honour to follow in his fathers footsteps - just once , not heard one single word from him all summer long - yet Suarez hasn't stopped bleating on all summer yet that's not a good enough reason to sell yet Pepe mentions Barce once and that's good enough for him to be sold ?

Has Pepe told anyone his mind is elsewhere ?

Really ? Check out a couple of Aggers last season then

Can you think of anything apart from the Aguero incident ?

What about players missing chances that have cost us points over the last couple of seasons.

If a player has been "woeful" over two seasons then I would expect you to recall more than one error

There has been many times I cant be bothered. I understand you want Pepe to stay and maybe he might make the same mistake against City again and get you guys a point again. Im on to you Benjamin

Many times ? Yet you can't actually name them.

That just about says it all.

Hence why you try and turn it a dig about me.
