well they've certainly got a testing spell coming up. their next 7 games are liverpool (a), newcastle (h), arsenal (a), man u (h), everton (a), stoke (h) and chelsea (a).

your right mick, its squeaky bum time for them and hopefully they wont manage any more than 10pts from that run.

it's their fans i can't stand. their arrogance is astounding considering they've won sod all really for years. all of a sudden they have one year in the champions league and the europa league is now "beneath them".

lol.thats so true.
i know a few and its absolutely unbearable trying to discuss football with them.
i was told by one that we werent bad and we are like them a few years ago and if we keep plugging away we will get there in the end at the expense of either arsenal or chelsea who are also inferior teams.
i hope they fail epically come may.

I chose not to become enemy centred but concentrate realistically on our chances this season. For me, just win the Carling and FA cups would be a satisfactory season. With Arsenal winning 7-1 yesterday, we're too far behind Chelsea and Arsenal. To be blunt, we're fighting with Newc. for 6th spot only.

Mate, we're 4 points away from 4th with about 15 more games to go, our chances for getting CL place are still very big.
But, like you said, I'll be more than just satisfied if we win the two cups even if we don't qualify for the Champions League.

We've still got to play Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea at home, as well as Utd and Newcastle away. Those are the type of games we thrive on, and I won't be surprised if we take at least 10 points from those 5 games.

We do have a good chance yes, but I'm struggling to remember the last time we actually took advantage of our rivals dropping points.

Hence it's the fixtures such as QPR, WBA and Fulham that I'm expecting us to drop points. We're aren't cold blooded or merciless enough unfortunately, when it comes to these "smaller clubs".

We will easily finish ahead of Newcastle.

Chelsea and Arsenal are there for the taking there is nothing in it.

Like your optimism mate, problem is, as always,  we so easily dismiss ability of the teams around us . Usually bites us in the A'rse.

We have to be taking our chances in the 2nd half of the season. We usually do better in the second half, lets hope we cut back on the draws at home against smaller sides and score more goals!

How about if we score one goal more than the opposition?

Just win the Carling Cup and we should unless we underestimate them and/or the match is fixed by the bookies.

Win the FA cup as well and finish 5th, though this will be unlikely.

I want us to be back in Europe next season. Ok the CL is still technically within reach but we have to remember we are a club in transition so a Europa League place might have to do. Winning the Carling Cup will get us a place in it so to finish 6th or better and potentially win the FA Cup will be a great achievement given what we have had to put up with. Also to still be in contention with having had Suarez out for so long is a plus.

If we don't get 4th then we can only look to our home form as the main reason why and that's something we will need to address in the summer.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

if we don't beat this arsenal team in our next league game we need to have a serious look at ourselves. can't believe they're ahead of us. they're an absolute rabble.

Its true, they are shockingly poor, I've watched the last few Meelan games and I thought they were bad!  :D

No CL will be a disaster for @rse and Chels, hopefully we grad it and they both suffer!!
