LUCAS LEIVA - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think we are so used to Lucas being shlt that now we have lower our expectation. He has had played average recently, and it;s definitely a good sign as we can see that this is an improvement but he is what he is - average at best (still not convinced though unless he can play at least 7 good games out of 10 games consistently and not the reverse). So, if Rafa can sell him in the summer for a decent sum and add a few million to get Barry, we should go for it since Gerrard, Kuyt and Carra are not getting any younger and we must try to field the best team to win within 2 years and not 3 to 5 years from now.

Get a grip and leave the kid alone, Lucas was not the only one that didnt turn up last night. Dont be makin the kid a scapegoat.

He didnt stand out for me as being any poorer than the other players.

Dont think he deserves singling out for stick after last night at all.

He wasnt great but was no worse than some of the big names.

Mate, I'm not making him a scapegoat by judging him only on yesterday's performance alone. He again played poorly yesterday, which has virtually threw us out of the CL. Sure others were poor too but he fails to perform far too often to 'not deserve' any stick.

No he wasn't the only one but if we had Masch then Gerrard would not have been playing so deep. Lucas is not good enough for this club, even as a fringe player.

I thought the kid done well last night, but he just got a little tired then we started to be over run in midfield he is not a holding midfielder anyway him and Masch are two different kind of players.

Lucas for me has stopped being a failure month and month ago ,this is the player this is his talents this is what he can give us ,bashing him is just doing the kid injustice - at this stage the only one who should be criticized is the one who lets him play which is Rafa - this is and only is Rafa failure.

He had no choice, Mascherano was suspended and Rafa wasn't about to change his formation or tactics to compensate for 1 player. Unless your referring to Rafa's decision overall to buy him. :D

Keano would have solved this problem by playing in the hole with Gerrard in a deeper role. Anyways, no point dreaming now. We desperately need a decent back up for Masch and Alonso next summer.
