BTW at half time what was that all about that its already been decided that Bellamy is going back to Blackburn?
I havent heard anything but the commentators said Liverpool have said he is free to leave and Crouch?
Really strange that one, for me Bellamy can go but Crouch must stay.

Maybe a good result brother , but we were absolutely shi.te. I cant remember being so frustrated. Took a lifetime to get the ball anywhere near their box, and bang bang bang -they do it in 3 or 4 passes. I wont even start about Zenden!! Any man in the street can see how :censored:

Apart from Gerrards shot we never looked like scoring.

We need to learn that lobbing it up at snail's pace towards our strikers just doesn't cut it against the big sides.

For all our possession, very, very little threat. In contrast, Chelsea looked threatening on the break, which worries me for the second leg. I was actually quite encouraged by the number of times Zenden was getting on the ball in the first half, but he really didn't do a great deal with it.

On the plus side, there was just the one goal. There's always that fear that Chelsea will nick a late one.

How big a game is the return leg at all now? It's still a finely balanced tie. If we get Finnan back and tighten up at the back, and can manage to keep a clean sheet, I think we can turn this around.

We have to keep the ball on the deck more though. When we do, we create a ton of space around the box. When we don't, Kuyt and Crouch get crowded out and can't get into the game.

We were so slow to get going tonight, just completely gave them the initiative. Its going to take one hell of a night at anfield to pull this one back, but it can be done.

Things could be a lot worse, they could have had 2 or 3 to be fair. We can win 2-0 at Anfield NO PROBLEM!

Well a game of two halves, except that they got the deciding goal.

We're just to toothless going forward, I thought Cech's save was brilliant but that was the only real chance we had. Its not enough though, Alonso was pi$$ poor as was Arbeloa tonight very dissapointing. Well Zenden was just Zenden useless !

Now we've got to keep Chelsea out and score. Tall order but its possible, for me Gerrard has to be in the center and start Pennant right. If Finnans fit he should go back to RB, Arbeloa LB and Riise LM.

All in all dissapointing result we played okay second half all is not lost !

Also I'm now glad Drogba didnt win PFA of the year award, he doesnt deserve the f.ucking cheat, even Mouriniho was yelling at him to get up. :angry:

Look on the bright side, it could have been worse. Thats the only positive thing to take from this game. I would have liked to have seen crouch start. And for the thousands Zenden earns a week you would have thought he could bang a decent ball in the box with his right foot? Arboela had a bad game, hope finnan return is speedy!!

I reckon we'll win this at Anfield, Chelsea played great tonight and we played :censored:

and they stil only beat us 1-0. I can see us beating them 2 or even 3 nil at Anfield. the atmosphere will be too much for them and they'll get nervy.

It isn't that bad a result, seriously.

how pathetic were the chelsea fans btw. pretty much expected, but in all honesty all i heard from their fans in the 1st half was "chelsea (clap clap clap) chelsea (clap clap clap)" and "chelsea chelsea chel - sea, chelsea chelsea chel - sea". ffs, one word in 45 minutes.

then in the second half they came out with "where's your famous euro - pe - an cup?".
but we fu.cked them off with "fu.ck u chelsea" lol

YEA, FINAN HAD A SLIGHT INJURY OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED RIGHT WITH AREBOLA AT LEFT BACK AND RIISE LEFT MIDFIELD. I THINK BENITEZ WAS TOO CAUTIOUS. LATE AND WHAT NOT. I THOUGHT ZENDEN WAS TERRIBLE. HE WAS GIVEN THE BALL THE MOST BUT DID NOTHING WITH IT . I HAVE NO IDEA WHY BENITEZ DIDN'T PUT GONZALEZ ON!

In the second half, we were decent, until min 80 at least.

In the first half, we had to have possesion and wait until the storm of pressure ended, it could not last forever. But we didn't manage well possesion. And the 2 strikers up were useless. Bellamy was the wrong option.
