well dont read the thread then A.B and dont get involved, problem solved, this :censored: bothers me also but not to the point where i have to post :censored: like:

"Now I perfectly understand why the likes of Stu and Leon were in a sh1t mood all the time. I can't blame them to be honest, not when I read people's posts who don't take the time to think through their thoughts before posting them.

It's getting  ridiculous, no ridiculous is an understatement."

people who post comments like you bothers me more than rubbish rumours! at least this :censored: has something to do with LFC, so why dont you run along to another forum if your not happy here.

now getting back on topic, i think it will be a bad move to sell cisse so early also...although i do question his ability in the technique, first touch and skill department, he has got good pace and has a really good shot on him. If by any means we do sell him IMO he should be replaced, 2 strikers for one is not a good idea, if he does go maybe we could look into bringing anelka back possbly for about 6-7mil which would leave us a bit of extra cash for a CB and RW (assuming we get around 10mil for him)

Rubbish rumours should be posted in the Rumour Thread especially when rumours such as this one have no solid evidence in the report that suggests that Cisse will in fact be sold.

This is a discussion board and I understand that however there's a limit to everything. Things can be discussed properly but not with comments "Benitez is a retard if he sells Cisse".

people who post comments like you bothers me more than rubbish rumours!

Why not take your own suggestion and ignore me and everyone else who makes comments such as my previous one?

the fact is i cant ignore your post as i have been following the thread since it started. so i read everyones opinions and thoughts on the topic, maybe your post and others like yours with such comments belong somewhere else and not in this thread. so dont bother posting nonsence and try to dig at people on this forum. if you feel the way you do dont :censored: read it, problem solved. Whereas others do have an interest in this topic thats why there have been 78 replies and 2037 views.

Liverpool's pursuit of Michael Owen appears to be going down to the transfer-window wire despite Real Madrid's confirmation yesterday that the Anfield club are "very interested" in re-signing the striker.
Owen's representatives are holding talks with Liverpool with the blessing of Real, but are aware that there is a significant difference between Real's asking price and what Liverpool are prepared to pay. Certainly, neither club wishes to make a loss on the£8m deal that took Owen to the Bernabéu a year ago.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night Real insisted they have yet to receive a formal offer and warned they will not allow the England striker to depart cheaply. Until an offer is formalised Real are understood not to be directly involved in the negotiations, with Owen's agents handling the discussions but keeping officials at the Spanish club in touch with developments.
Real would welcome a move for Owen before the August 31 transfer deadline but were quick to emphasise that it would take a "really important bid, a lot of money" to secure his departure from Spain. While the bidding, officially at least, will start at €25m (around £17m), Real would be likely to accept a fee closer to €15m (£10m). They will not, in principle, countenance a loan deal.

With one year left on his Liverpool contract, Owen had arrived in Madrid for a knockdown price and scored 13 league goals in 20 matches last season. While his desire for a starting place has been made harder by the summer arrivals of Robinho and Julio Baptista, Real are adamant his value has risen, and he has three years left on his current Madrid deal.

Owen spoke to Real officials two weeks ago and said he wanted to return to England. He was told that while Real would prefer him to stay, they accepted his reasoning - in which next summer's World Cup figured prominently - and that should a decent offer be made it would be considered.

That assurance hid the extent to which Real see the England striker as a significant source of income with which to balance the books after the signings not only of Baptista and Robinho but also Pablo García and Carlos Diogo. Nor do they consider him indispensable, despite a recent pro-Owen mood in the Spanish press.

Although a central defender and right-sided midfielder remain Rafael Benítez's priorities, the Liverpool manager has been persuaded by his board to reconsider a move for Owen which initially he had publicly ruled out.

The likely departure of Milan Baros, with Aston Villa leading the chase for his signature but as yet unwilling to match Liverpool's £7m valuation, will free up a place in the squad and the money with which to make a bid, although Owen is likely to have to accept a slight cut in his current £90,000-a-week salary.

Liverpool are one of three clubs who, Real understand, are considering a formal move for Owen, with Newcastle United also "very keen" to sign him and Manchester United retaining what has been described as a "slightly lesser" interest.

Aware of Owen's determination to play Champions League football next season, Real now consider Liverpool to be his most likely destination, despite the open enthusiasm of Newcastle's manager Graeme Souness.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

The Times should be a credible source as well as Marca, who's the standby paper for Real. Anyway, no one knows where they got the rumour about Cisse----maybe it's just a bullsh*t. However, the story did assure me that Rafa wants Owen back and he is struggling with money. Let's just hope everything goes as his plan and well for our Reds. Whoever will be sold, as long as it's necessary for our success then it's OK. No one is bigger than the team.

We just shouldn't have sold Owen to them. When doing business, Real is a BIG :censored:. :veryangry

I've just seen this on skysports

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/transfe....=299861

I think the whole Cisse to Lyon thing is BS. It just doesn't make sense. He's cup tied, he hasn't really played for us yet, he's settled in well (married a local girl and is lord of the manor) and the fans want him to stay.

I've been keeping my trap shut for a long time now regarding Michael Owen. For the last two months I have said almost nothing on the subject, due to the fact that we'd been talking about it non-stop for a the whole month before that. But now I have to break my silence as everyone seems to be sure we've already signed him, but how are they sure. From what I can make out, every man and his dog in Liverpool seem to know a bloke who has this mate who's brother once drove Michael Owen's dad to the shops, or a girl who knows a guy whose cousin works in a shop where Owen's wife once bought a coffee. Every one is so excited because Owen is "Definatley" (and I'm quoting quite a few of you here) coming back to Liverpool.

Where is he? First off we had to sell Milan Baros, then people got excited and suddenly we've already signed him but it's a secret due to tax reasons, even though we have no conformation that any offer for Baros has even been accepted. Now Cisse is being thrown into it as well. The maths doesn't work for a start. We value Baros at £7m, Cisse cost us £14m and even after his injury he could command £10m, so we are now looking at having to raise £17m to buy back a player that we sold for £8m? No business man is that bad and Rick Parry is pretty good, regardless of how slimey he is. Oh, but I forgot! Someone else who has a mate who works in Anfield "knows" that we have signed him on loan with an option to buy, so the sale of Baros would have nothing to do with it and would be more likely to do with a winger or centre half and the Cisse thing would be cr@p. Yet everyone seems to believe every story that any journalist puts out. Journalists have a funny language that you have to learn if you really want to find out what they know. From the articles I've read, all I've found that is solid is that we have shown interest in Michael Owen. The rest is sh!te which has no more basis is reality than a purple penguin who dances the bollero and plays tiddley-winks with a herring named Malcom, who no doubt knows this guy who's brother once slept with this girl who once saw Michael Owen (well, she thinks it was Michael Owen) who says he'll sign for Tranmere Rovers for a Mars Bar and £20 a week.

I'm not trying to insult anyone here. I'm trying to warn you. For all we know, Michael Owen will still be playing for Real come the close of the transfer window. Or he may have gone somewhere else, God forbid, Man Ure. None of us really know for sure and from what I've been reading for the last two months, a lot of you may be very dissapointed come the transfer window's closing. For the last four weeks people have been saying things like "he'll sign this Friday, for sure". We're running out of Fridays, and he still hasn't signed.

I know that most of you want him, I want him, Stevie wants him, Jamie wants him, Didi wants him, Parry wants him, Moores wants him, Rafa wants him and everyone else who loves Liverpool want him, but we don't always get what we want. This may be the case, and everyone's going to look around and say to themselves "I thought he was coming" and a lot of people are going to be very sad.

Hopefully, he will come. Hopefully he will score us 20 goals and we win the league, the FA cup, the League cup and the CL again. Why not? If we have Michael, it could happen. I would love, more than a lot of things, to see Owen run out of the tunnel at Anfield again wearing red. But it might not happen, and when I hear people saying "He's back" or "We got him", I can't help thinking that we are jinxing the move, or that the move was never on and that we are just getting our hopes up.

But hey, if he does come back, you can gloat at me all you want and I'll be just as happy. I'll apologise for my lack of faith in someones mum's hairdresser whose brother nows this girl whose mate slept with this guy whose friend once sold Owen a car who says that he'll be back in Red for £11m. I'll apologise to all of you and I won't care because he will be back, but I still refuse to get my hopes up.

Old Chinese Proverb:-

Think about that and remeber every other rumour, every story and every one that has turned out to be a lie and think of how you will feel if he does not sign.

I hope he does though...

I'm sure the Cisse story is BS - Rafa wouldn't let us start the season with just Owen, Moro and Crouch (assuming Owen is signed).  Moro has problems adjusting to life in the Premiership, and Owen is injury prone.  We could easily be without any firepower up front in a lot of games.  Even if the strikers all stayed fit, would three be enough for the taxing fixture list we have this season?  I doubt it.  Crouch and Moro are quite similar players, so if Owen were to get injured and we didn't have Cisse, Rafa would be faced with a very one-dimensional attack without any real variety or options.

Yes Cisse still needs to prove himself, but surely he's earnt that chance with the way he battled back from his injury?  I know that there's no room for sentiment in sport - but keeping Cisse wouldn't be sentiment, it would be common sense - the guy was obviously desperate to play and do well for the club, so lets see what he's got before we sell him.

Rafa won't sell Cisse, I'm sure of it.  However I do feel that Baros is the weak-link in our attack, and a sale of him to fund the purchase of Owen would only make us stronger as well as giving Stevie and Carra a morale boost.  Plus Owen would have to prove himself all over again, and I'm sure he would feel a debt of gratitude to the club for rescuing him.  And we all know what MO can do when he puts his mind to it.
