I think he would be a good addition to the squad at only 24 and rafa could make him even better . Needs a hair cut though .

Not what we should be looking at to be fair.

He does cover alot of ground and can carry the ball though.

Still i'd rather have Parker or Nolan.

Only really seen the lad when he plays for England and a few games for Bayern here an there. I quite like him. Looks like he can do a little bit of everything. He broke into the Munich team at a very young age so he's no mug, he's young, played champs league football for a big club his whole careeer and he would cost very little.

Whats not to like?

Owen Hargreaves will not be leaving Bayern Munich over the summer and will see out the remainder of his contract at the club, according to general manager Uli Hoeness.

Full story

Bayern Munich manager Uli Hoeness has said he will not allow Owen Hargreaves to leave the club to move to Liverpool. The former Bayern player made it very clear that the England international is not for sale and will not be allowed to move anywhere before his contract runs out next summer.

Hargreaves told the press only last week that moving to England, specifically Liverpool, is an option he would certainly consider to help his bid for a place in Sven Goran Eriksson's world cup squad next year.

Former German international Hoeness however is not willing to give the Canadian born midfielder up without a fight however.

It must be said that Hoeness has been overruled by club President Franz Beckenbauer before though and if Rick Parry can make a deal with "Der Kaiser", Hoeness may not have any other choice than to take the cash on the table.

Liverpool have yet to comment on the rumour but it is well known that Rafa Benitez is looking to strengthen his midfield and that English players and players he knows from La Liga have his preference.

We can still get him despite what Bayerns manager says, basically he's stating that he won't give him up without a fight. If Hargreaves wants to leave then he will

If Hamann decides to leave at the end of the season I think Hargreaves could perform a  similar Defensive mdfield role but for me there is a far better player at Bayern who would improve LFC and his name is Michael Ballack :D  I realise he is a different type of player ...........faster, more offensive, better in the air , need i go on ? :D

Except he would cost an arm and a leg. :D Like you say he's very offensive but for some reason Bayern play him as a defencive midfielder.

With the money from Baros , Diouff, Biscan and the reduced wage bill from the loss of Hamann, Diouff, Cheyrou etc..... we can afford to buy quality instead of gambles .....:D

Or the present Ronaldinho ............. though I think we would have to break the bank several times for that to happen that and he would start to love English weather.......

:D

Why just not take both Ballack and Hargreaves ? :D

I like Marek Mintal !!!!  Everyone got excited when we were linked with him but I haven't heard anything since.  This guy is amazing he's scored hatfuls against everyone, not just against the lower teams but he's also dismantled Bayern Munich's defense.  Would be a great buy imo
