I still think we should push him out wide and focus more on playing a possession game rather than a direct style... Wont work with Aquilani on his way out though...

To me he works best coming off the flank behind defenders.. Him, Gerrard and Torres need to play closer to each other to give us a little more fluidity in the final third.. As things stand im not sure that will be the case... Ill reserve judgment until we manage to get out best starting 11 out there...

The game wasn't won, the tie far from won, so trying to get him off the mark was a poor call. That said the only real alternative was Torres who doesn't take our penalties when Gerrard is on the pitch.
