Great player but unfortunately another example of a player we brought, with no thought or logic of how he would actually fit into the team or formation. Under the current regime and style of play he may aswell not be on the pitch as he's wasted.

I blame Rafa.

the really frustrating thing at the moment is that with the exception of Lucas, who is actually not the worst player this season, we have good attacking players in the team. We really should be playing a hell of a lot better than we are and that can only be blamed on one person, the manager.
Hodgson has to go asap and we need to get a manager who can inspire the squad before it's to late. In the interim I would like to see Daglish given a chance

Is it the Cole we saw before his serious injury or the Cole that chelsea didnt want to give a new contract too .

He looks rubbish so far.  But im guessing the team tactics are also having a negative affect on him.

He says in the mail today that he's never played so bad in his life, which is refreshingly honest at least. Like most of the team if not all of them, his problem which needs to addressed firstly and formostly is that he doesn't work hard enough.

Given our predicament (and obviously that of the manager), I think our first priority for the Blackburn fixture is to properly graft, put some sweat into it, close people down with conviction, fight for the right to play. If i was Hodgson, I'd be going fecking ballistic with anyone who isn't putting in a full shift. Too many of our players are living on past glories (which are mostly imagined) and we're quite simply getting out-battled. It's the managers job to make sure that doesn't happen as step one of a recovery process.

Cole, Torres, Rodriguez didn't earn the shirt between them in terms of effort against Everton, and you simply can't carry players in those games. On a sidenote, as I've said a few times now I'm beginning to really like Mereiles and I think he'll be a good player for us, even if the bloke who signed him doesn't stick around to see it.

well it seems some posters are so hell bent on proving that their predictions are spot on or that they were right BUT he isnt being played in the position he should be playing. he isnt a left winger, never was and never will be.

the loss of Riera is sticking out like a sore thumb.

He played left wing during his most successful period for Chelsea ??? He was part of a front three including Duff and Drogba when they won two titles in a row

how could he have played on the left while Duff was there? he has always preferred a central role, not the left wing.

Doesnt matter what he preferred - its where he is most effective and when he was one of the best players in the prem and for england it was when he was playing in a wide left role .

Is he thou ? Ever since he came back from his serious knee injury he was half the player he was previously - there must of been some reason Chelsea didnt want to pay him the 90 grand we are paying him .

At the start until injuries happened and cole got his chance and then never looked back - it was supposed to be Robben rotating with Duff .

Cole took advantage of injuries to other players[who?] to become one of the stars of Chelsea's Premier League title winning team in 2004–05.[citation needed] Cole's form saw him hit a run of goals towards the end of the season, and his goal against Norwich City (blasted in from 22 yards off his weaker left foot) was voted in the top ten goals of the 2004–05 Premier League season.[citation needed] Cole scored 10 goals for Chelsea in 2004–05 and ended the season with a Premier League Champions' medal.[citation needed] He was subsequently named in the PFA's team of the season.[citation needed]

In the first half of the 2005–06 season Cole secured himself in the Chelsea first team line up, ahead of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Damien Duff. Cole also extended his contract with Chelsea for another four seasons.[citation needed] He ended his season by scoring the one of the three goals against Manchester United, which sealed the title for Chelsea.[citation needed]

I thought landing Cole was the highlight of an awful summer transfer window. I stated at the time he was a favourite of mine. Thus far he has not performed its as simple as that. There were a few good signs in the last game where he got a few superb crosses in but, generally its been disappointing stuff. The thing with Joe is that we know his game and we know he can be an outstanding talent, we have just yet to see it at LFC... Come on Son, step up step up!
