Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby woof woof ! » Tue Aug 10, 2004 4:05 pm

This may be a wind up BUT just spoke to a spanish lad (works next door) Says he was on the phone to his brother in Madrid and the gossip there is that RONALDO see's this Owen move to Madrid as the perfect chance for him to move to the premiership. He says it's something he has wanted for some time and "Liverpool are an honourable and succesful club"
Could all be a load of bull but if it isn't
Would we want him ???? ???? ???  ???

I hear that the story is recieving no coverage what so ever in Spain.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Ronaldo won't endure even one full season in England with the extra physical exertions and attention from the opposition before he screams "I want to paly in [any other] league, it has always been my dream... bla bla bla".

He is a great striker, having outshone the price of the Barnabeu Raul last season, but I think a bit spoiled now that he is some 27-28 to put in the effort to get acclimatised to the English physicality and pace of football plus he does not seem to be as fit as before. Also quite fickle mentally as he was quick to ditch Inter who stood by him during his worst injury spell.

Like Rivaldo, not worth the excessive hassle/handling required to keep him happy.

Can't beleive people are slagging ronaldo, he was and still is an excellent striker. Okay he is slightly overweight but that has only made him stronger and he still is a very quick player. Was Real Madrid's top scorer last year so how someone can question his ability i don't know. Would like to think there is some truth in this rumour but i doubt it.

this aint classed as slagging....hes fat...its TRUE....top scorer also true but madrid only got 2 real striker last season raul n ronaldo morri was on loan 2 monaco so its not that hard to be a top scorer especially with the creavtive midfield behind him!
