First of all... Hello to all the Liverpool fans and thanks for sharing your forum with us Inter fans as the champions league match gets closer...

Liverpool is a great team, and one we very much respect. In fact I would say it was probably the team I hoped to avoid the most, together with Barcelona. The reason is the two teams resemble each other quite a lot, both capitalizing on physical dominance and collective team-play as their most notable strengths.

I understand why some Liverpool fans tend to underestimate Inter, and I don't blame you. Inter have been missing the crucial stages of international competitions for quite some time, so it's quite natural that many people abroad don't really know how the players evolved in the recent years, and how the team changed.

In fact what was once Inter's biggest weakness, the lack of team-spirit, is now our biggest propelling force. Today Inter went down 1-0 in the Milan derby and eventually won 1-2. A few years ago this could never have happened. Moreover currently Inter are playing without 3/4 of the starting midfield.

If you want to learn something about how Inter has been doing in the recent months these are some collections of last season's matches:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWcHkDFN0IE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmcfYGSKobY&feature=related

Inter-Liverpool won't be easy for neither of the two teams, and I honestly think both teams have equal chances to qualify. As I wrote before, right now Inter has serious problems in the midfield due to injuries. If we were playing Liverpool tomorrow we would quite certainly lose, so it will also depend on how these players will recover their form before February.

Then it will be as usual... maybe a player of one of the two teams will have the game of his life, maybe one of the two teams will have a little bit more luck, maybe somebody will lose his mind and get a red card in a critical period of one of the two games... everything can happen.

In my opinion no matter who will advance to the next round, it will be a great team, and probably the other one would have deserved a spot also.

Let's hope it will be a good couple of games, and let all the fans of both teams have a great time in Liverpool and Milan.

Cheers
Interismi

Welcome Interismi!  That was a Great post.  I have to agree with you that this will be a very difficult match to predict.  Both of our teams are so alike in our styles.  It will all come down to who has more will to win.  Can't freaking wait!

Well, I like Internazionale's kit. The Black and blue one....with the yellow writing on, from a couple of seasons ago.

I like Inter's current "St.George's Cross" kit.

That's the kind of kit England should be wearing, because I don't understand why they wear red/white/navy.

Makes no sense.

AND WE ARE LIVERPOOL!!!!

First of all: hello to everybody!

I'm too happy to argue about liverpool - inter game, because, as you probably know, today we kicked bilan's :censored: (we won the last 3 games against them :buttrock )!

But when I read that Kuyt, Babel and Benayoun are great players I feel strange... I respect Kuyt, he's a great athlete and tacticly he is one of your most important player, but he can't be on a par with striker like Van Nistelrooy, Henry, Drogba (i'm sorry if i named players you probably don't love  ), Crespo and Torres.
Babel and Benayoun didn't do anything in CL yet, they may have a great potential, but they didn't prove it yet!

I'm a supporter of Inter, but you have to know that I prefer players who "fight" 90 mins, who give everything they can for the team and who never surrend. That's why I think my football ideas are close to yours, I hate pussies like C.Ronaldo and sometimes I get angry with Zlatan Ibrahimovic because he's more focused on showing his skill than helping the team.

My fav Inter players are Zanetti, Cambiasso, Materazzi and my fav Liverpool players are Gerrard and Carragher. They are essential players, maybe you won't see them on TV, because they don't do rabona and other useless tricks, but if are at the stadium you realize how much important they are, how much they want to win and how much they love the team they are playing for.

Last thing: reading some posts I found out that a lot of you talks about things they don't know or they just heard from some superficial source. And you are totally in contempt with italian football, I really don't know why. Probably because of some stupid commonplace, or because you just think that english football is the best all the way, but you should take a look at some game and try to discover that it has its merits (I understand that we are still living a football scandal and you think that the whole system is corrupted, but on the field, NOW, it's a fair game, but we still have some of the best players in the world)!

Now i'm considering the possibility of coming to Anfield to support Inter... who knows, maybe we'll drink something together (against Bilan, of course :eyebrow )

Merry Christmas to everyone from Italy

As in every forum, there are some idiots and some smart people, indeed i didn't refer to everyone of you!

Thank you for today, it was an orgasm to beat them (AGAIN), expecially because in 2 days everyone is going to have dinner/launch with relatives... and we have to tease the "world champions"
:rasp

I'll be happy even if we loose against you, since i think that have the possibility to come to :censored: to see a game at Anfield is something that i'll never forget. (PS: this doesn't mean that we are not going to win in Milan and go throuh the CL :p )

inter 2 milan 1.

Ive noticed in Italy there is no loyalty. Players and even Manager switch around clubs every other season.

Ronaldo - Inter and Milan

Vieri - Lazio and Inter. (Where is he now?)

Pirlo - Inter and then Milan

Nesta - Lazio and then Inter

Seedorf - Inter and then Milan

Ibrahimovich - Juve and then Inter

Nesta actually went to milan. But going from lazio to milan or any othe team is no biggie, its when you join Roma from lazio which is the problem.

Vieri, where is he now? He has played at every single club. Including juve. Anyway theres more i can add to the list, but its not just Italy..its in every country. Barca/Real have players.

Gallas, Cole etc..

Heck even gerrard had major thoughts of joining chelsea :P Money speaks louder than words, but in the end you will have those great players that youngsters can admire.

Our own Zanetti and Gerrard, Maldini, Totti.  (respective captains)

Do you know a funny story, we wore the george's cross kit in turkey and whopped fenerbahce (they had beaten us 1-0 first tim) and we really gave a thmping, anyway, later that week a turkish lawyere complained to UEFA about how dare we come to play a muslim team wearing crusader uniform.....

I was shocked...guys will bring up anything when they get beat.....

You should have replied that you are offended at Turkish fans bringing their saracen symbols to their away matches.

Geographically only about 2% of Turkey is even IN Europe.

They should not be part of UEFA.

Neither should Israel. If no Arab team will play against Israel or guarantee their safety then fook it, ban any Arab nation from FIFA who whines and complains.

It's great to see some Inter Milan fans on here. Welcome on board, weird coming from me, having only been here a week, but meh, I like discussing games with opponents. ANyways, good luck i the tie guys, hope you play well, but more importantly, hope Liverpool win :D

I think it may come down to which defence performs the best. We need to defend well against Ibrahimovic, and Inter need to defend well against Torres. I'm praying on a home leg hat trick from El Nino to settle the tie, but that would be extremely tough, as it's not like we're playing another Besiktas, Marseille or Porto.

Anyways, good luck but, without trying to sound too harsh, I hope you dont win... wait, maybe I hope we win would sound better.....
