A long way to go to even talk of humble pie - a goal ( with a big help from the gk ) against Preston in a pre season friendly ( or looking good in training pics  ) won't change any opinions.

If we go by the game on Saturday then Pacheco is the one that stood out whilst Asspas looked no better than anyone else on the pitch.

Even if Aspas has a good season it won't change your opinion, you'll endevour to be negative where you can because you hate being wrong.

What I said: "I HOPE the same WILL HAPPEN concerning Aspas"

Do you misread or misinterpret opinions on purpose in order to start a quarrel?

oi sh!tehouse, I said LOOKING GOOD IN TRAINING. Not training pictures you muppet. He's made an impression during some good training sessions and this has been spoken about by the club. I think he's surprised a few at Melwood. He'll be fine.  you'll be wrong.

Not at all mate - was more a general comment about the player. Not many players in the last ten years have surprised us when judged against their career etc. Aspas is a symbol of where we are as a club.

keep up the good work

he looked more composed on the ball than his youtube clips suggested but the likes of riera and gonzales looked good early on too.
but at least theres some hope he may turn out to be decent.

Also assaulted a youth player and was rightly thrown out of the club for it

???

Thrown out of the club four months after the incident with a youth player, really ?

There's far more to the Riera story.

Liverpool Echo july 15th 2010

ALBERT RIERA has been given a shock opportunity to revive his troubled Liverpool career after he was named in the 22-man squad that has flown to Switzerland.

The Spanish winger has not been sighted near Liverpool’s first team since he was suspended and fined two weeks wages for a serious breach of club discipline in March.

Liverpool had looked to offload Riera – who fell out spectacularly with former boss Rafa Benitez – in April to Spartak Moscow but the deal fell through due to his personal demands.

Riera had enraged officials and team-mates alike when he referred to Liverpool as being “a sinking ship” on Spanish radio station the night before they played Lille in the second leg of their last 16 Europa League tie.

However, Roy Hodgson has taken the surprise step of including Riera, who had missed the first two days training under the new manager due to a slight knee problem.

Though there is still some doubt about Riera’s long-term future at Anfield – his list of misdemeanours include a fight with an unnamed youth player – he is poised to get a chance to turn things around

The club where happy to see him go BUT Riera wanted to leave after his bust up with Rafa and lack of first team opportunies, he only made 15 appearances during his last season with us.

Aspas was the star man for me today ,full of invention and running and has shown enough to suggest he will be a very useful player this coming season.
Involved in everything good about the reds today.
