Unfortunately it's become extremely tiresome .

My patience with these endless squabbles is wearing very thin.

There is a common denominator. Not difficult to rectify the problem really.

???

I understand where you're coming from but remind me, how many times have you been banned ?

There's a lot of people in here who need to grow the f'uck up !

Woof - why do you automatically assume that I'm suggesting that somebody should be banned? As a moderator I would have thought you could be a little more imaginative. People used to be banned for little or no reason and the forum has suffered very badly as a result. Opinion is what forums are all about. Exchanging information and enjoying a bit of banter with fellow reds. Arguing for the sake of it and starting flame wars however seems to be the key objective for certain posters. As a result the forum is now a virtual graveyard.

I really like this signing. Had never heard of the lad beforehand but having watched a good number of clips/vid compilations of various matches (not just the usual highlight reel) he looks like he has some quality. He looks quick, strong with a low centre of gravity, is very busy, skillful enough to go past defenders and versatile enough to play in the 9, 10 and wide right/indie righ role. I think he'll go well, looks a btter by than Alberto for me.

That was a decent video.

I see him as a bit of a mixture of both Suarez and Tevez (tho not nearly as talented obviously).  He's got the hard work and a little bit of movement like Suarez, always trying to get to the ball.  He also seems to have the dependency on his strong foot like Suarez as well, which I've always considered a weakness.  His build is very similar to Tevez, and the way he moves I think is very similar to Tevez as well.

Overall he looks like he can pick it up against the big clubs.  If he can consistently play like that we may have found a bargain.  I doubt he'll ever bee the next Torres or Suarez, but for less than 10 he could actually be a good bit of business.  I'm just not gonna get my hopes to high yet.

His strongest asset seems to be his willingness to keep going however his touch didn't look the great and it seems he doesn't take the ball past people but chooses instead to just lay it off.

Sorry Scott, admittedly I've not seen this guy before but on the evidence of that video I'm  unimpressed .

Still it's only one video, fingers crossed there's a lot more to him.

Actually that's a good observation Woof, he does often lay the ball off, see the vid below against Espanyol to see some more of this BUT that isn't a bad thing for a number 9 to be doing particularly if he's bringing other players into the game. A lot of the clips show him attacking space (first) and then checking back and laying the ball off) What I do like about this lad is that he is in perpetual motion, it's a layoff and then he spins off in an other direction. The fact he also looks strong and bullish will also work in his favour in the Prem. I think he'll be a real fan favourite at Anfield next season I really do.

his control looks very poor in that video and he also struggles to go past anybody.
he does look a busy player and full of energy so id say thats his biggest attribute.
given his circumstance's, ie: age and experience we need to be hopeful more than expectant.

He looks the total opposite of Downing, a fighter who won't need picking up and carrying. He'll improve our front line at the expense of the expensive one.

Scott/Woof, we used to call that touch and go didn't we, wasn't that the essence of Bob Paisley's football?

:nod

Unfortunately this fella's touch doesn't look that good.

Don't want to get all doom and gloomy (we've got enough of that already) but on the little I've seen I'm not seeing anything "special" in any aspect of his play.

Not knocking the fella, he hasn't kicked a ball for us yet , when he does hopefully he'll surprise me.

I think one thing stands out more than a Muslim in a hat made out of bacon, and that's Aspas was in a decidedly poor team at Vigo ,at Liverpool he will
be the foil for some outstanding attacking talents. I just think with the invention of players the quality of Coutinho ,Gerrard ,Sturridge and maybe even
Suarez the lad will prove a great acquisition.

It's too easy to get carried away with what is seen on compilation clips etc - I remember Mark Gonzalez being made out to be a superstar with his clips standing out in a poor team. Standing out in a poor team is what players like Adam did. The true rest of Aspas will be what he actually does with us - I'm not confident we will get much impact from him because his career so far doesn't stand out that he will make an impact. Maybe he has just not been discovered yet or slipped under the radar but we will soon see.

that's why i tend to go for the youtube clips that show a player's contribution to an entire game. This way you get to see the good, the bad and the ugly at the same time. Nom doubt this lad has his drawbacks, why else would he be playing 2nd div football until the age of 23-24 but such has been our fall from grace that the manager now needs to look in other areas to find talent that has yet to be picked up by rivals playing regular Champions League footy.

Hopefully this is a player that has sneaked under the radar and we have stolen a March - if he gives us more than Downing/Borini etc then we have a good squad option possibly. If he is arriving as a starter then we will need to see early impact from him
