Rafael Benitez has yet to savour a victory over Birmingham City as Liverpool manager, but he is hoping the Reds can rise to the occasion when the two sides meet in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Liverpool have drawn twice with Birmingham this season, 2-2 at St Andrews and 1-1 at Anfield and both matches featured own goals from Reds players Stephen Warnock and Xabi Alonso.
Benitez knows it will be a tough tie for his side but after having tasted victory over Manchester United for the first time on Saturday, he is hoping he can do the same against Birmingham in the quarter-final.
"We've had two draws with Birmingham this season and it will be another difficult game, particularly away from home," reflected Benitez.
"This season we have had two good games with them and perhaps we could have won both because we scored own goals in each of them.
"I think it's probably the case they will be thinking more about the league than the FA Cup. We are confident at the moment and will be looking forward to the game."
The Liverpool manager also feels he has the squad that can cope with three competitions with the Reds doing well in the FA Cup, Champions League and FA Cup.
"I think so as some players can't play in some cup competitions and I'm sure we have a good chance of doing well," added Benitez.
"I always want to win a trophy and it would be nice to win the FA Cup but there's a long way to go yet."
