Hey who's to say that Palletta & Agger are not better anyway? His distribution is conservative and predictable, I suggest people take note of Henchoz demise, here was a guy that gave the proverbial 110% every game and yet he was kicked to the curb because he did'nt offer anything more. Bring on the brickbats.

'2 words ? bit more than that Leon, where could you fit him in? England can't.'

- thats because england have terry and ferdinand not young inexperienced palleta and agger

'however, there is a possibilty that at his age and the fact that he has not had a proper rest now for 3 years coupled with his high energy combatitive nature, we could see a tired player next year.'

utter rubbish - he's 28... he's not 35! 28 is not old for a central defender. does rio need a break? - or terry?

'I suggest people take note of Henchoz demise'

- henchoz IS 35!! a lot older, a bit slower - and in any case henchoz is not a good a defender a carra in the centerback position

The only  statement I made was "his distribution is conservative and predictable" that my friend is without question.

I would say that the key players to get rid of are:

Salif Diao
Carl Medjani
Neil Mellor
Chris Kirkland
Florent Sinama Pongolle
Anthony Le Tallec
Djimi Traore
Djibril Cisse

And probarbably a few more.

I would be looking to do something along the lines off:

First team squad:

1. Pepe Reina
2. Jerzy Dudek
3. David Martin
4. Steve Finnan
5. Jan Kromkamp
6. Fabio Aurelio
7. John Arne Riise
8. Jamie Carragher
9. Sami Hyypia
10. Daniel Agger
11. Gabriel Paletta
12. – A new first choice right midfielder
13. Luis Garcia
14. Harry Kewell
15. Mark Gonzalez
16. Boudewijn Zenden
17. Steven Gerrard
18. Xabi Alonso
19. Momo Sissoko
20. Dietmar Hamann
21. – A new first choice striker
22. Craig Bellamy
23. Peter Crouch
24. Robbie Fowler

Have these playing in the reserves:

25. Paul Anderson
26. Besian Idrizaj
27. Danny Guthrie
28. David Mannix
29. Miki Roque
30. Lee Peltier
31. Danny O'Donnell
32. James Smith
33. David Raven
34. Adam Hammill
35. Jack Hobbs
36. Godwin Antwi
Plus a few more from the under 18s who are bound to get a chance in the reserves

Send these 2 out on loan for the season:

Antonio Barragan
Scott Carson

Sell these players:

Djibril Cisse
Djimi Traore
Carl Medjani
Chris Kirkland
Stephen Warnock
Neil Mellor
Florent Sinama Pongolle
Anthony Le Tallec
Salif Diao
Darren Potter
......................................................

Our squad definitely needs streamlining, but our first team squad is probably 2 first team players away from being arguably the strongest outside of Chelsea. Selling all the players we don’t want is going to be difficult but at least progress is being made.

To be honest id give Anderson a go on the right in pre-season if hes good enough he may save us a few quid but your post makes good reading, hasn't Raven gone on loan?

i think and hope that we will see a lot more of Paul Anderson this year. Rafa had him on the bench against Benfica if you can take any meaning from that.

Its nice to see a youngster break through. I was hoping Barragan would also be one of thos but it looks like he could want a move back to Spain.

Yes it seems the norm these days that when a youngster is signed he has to have some sort of nickname or tag attatched to him. I just hope thatwhatever happens and whoever comes and or goes out, it is for the better of the team.

im sure it will be Raf has made few mistakes in transfer market and he never pays over odds for players, many thought he paid to much for xabi alonso but he was an astute buy for 10.6m

This week will be a busy one for us. Expect all the new boys to be paraded this week. And maybe even Gonzalez if he ever gets his :censored: work permit.

Looking forward to seeing him watched him a few times for Chile and he looked a great prospect with Raf as his guiding light this lad will be a star
