Never heard of them.

rafa said Auirela is good enough to play for Brazil now!

So how come he, or paletta never played in the world cup???

you have to raise eyebrows there. I think Rafa looks for the future and not the quality that is available now.

Remember we are gunning to win the title, we need experienced class.

these are gambles by Rafa. ...like with Josemi, pellegrino, nunez, moreintes, Zenden and crouch.

Zenden feels like a new signing, as he spent mostof last season watchng LFC games on sky sports 1, and not in the squad.

Paletta is only 20 so has hardly been "tested" so to speak. in the prem you never know what will happen.

Rafa is trying to do it the "clever" and cheaper way it seems, but he might be too clever for himself!

???

:sleep

life is boring, isn't it?

I think we now have enough in defense and midfield, as defenders now...:

paletta, Aureila, Carra, Hypia, Riise,Agger, Warnock, Kromkamp.  so probably we will not concede much.

The difference this season is to turn draws into wins.

Also, on LFC.tv, Rafa has said Aureila is a better passer than Alonso!

Some acclaim that is.

Aurelio, has been injured for most of the season and fell out of favor with the new manager at Valencia. He was played out of position as well and he didn't like that. Therefore he did not recieve a call up from Brazil.

Aurelio, was a regural under Benitez when Valencia won La Liga. Aurelio will have no problems adjusting to the way we defend as he knows the zonal marking system in and out. The only problems as most foreigners have, will be adapting to the pace of the game in England.

It's also worth mentioning that Aurelio was wanted by Real Madrid,Villareal and Barcelona after he refused to sign a new contract with Valencia.

Paletta didn't recieve a call up because of the amount of quality Argentina have at the back. Secondly, he's still a youngster and has plenty to learn. He was however a key part to Argentina's back four in the Youth World Cup last year, which is where we scouted him.

Most importantly he was rated very highly by Boca Juniors to the point that they reserved a number six shirt for him. They were confident of signing him but we ''stole'' him from Boca.

Paletta is for the future as is Agger, however they can still do the job [hopefully] when they'll called upon. Aurelio is already proven at a high level.

Sissoko is only 20 and has won many over, hardly ''experienced''. Look at Arsenal's squad from last season. Their average age was around 21 and they got to the Champions League final. Fabregas is only 18 years old and he's dominated in European games.

Was totally unimpressed by the video I saw of him. Funny since compilations usually put in a players best moments.

From koptalk.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido says he's forgotten about Liverpool's interest in Daniel Alves.

Del Nido says the valuation of the player can't be met by the Reds which he claims he's quite happy about.

He said: "I've already forgotten about it, because I don't want to put him in the shop window.

"There was an offer but it in the end it didn't meet the figure we wanted and there it stopped as it was out of their reach.

"My personal view and hope is that it will end there but you never know what can happen in the football world."

He added: "For me, Daniel as a person has been 10/10, better still as a footballer and he is still as cheerful, polite and friendly towards me as he always been."

from skysports

Simao Sabrosa looks set to leave Benfica in the near future, the club have confirmed.

The Portuguese international was left out of Benfica's pre-season victory over Bordeaux on Saturday and, following the game, president Luis Felipe Vieira admitted Simao had been left out for a reason.

"The absence of Simao from the pitch is justified," said Vieira.

"In a few days the cause will be known."

Already Liverpool and Valencia are being tipped as the most likely suitors.

Both have been long-term admirers of the player and could very well be showing a renewed interest.

Coach Fernando Santos admitted he was told not to involve the midfielder.

"Simao has not played by order of the club," he added.

Spartak Moscow's Ukraine ace Maxim Kalinichenko is already being linked as a possible replacement

haven't we tried to get him before?? :O

oh,gosh.
marca says simao will go to valencia.

will marks says simao go to valence. Simao reaches an agreement with the Valencia by four seasons the left-handed end of the Benfica Flavorful Simao has reached an agreement with the Valencia for the four next seasons, at the rate of 2.5 million by each one of them, and it only reduces the approval of the lisboeta club, informs the press lusa. Nevertheless, still they lack many negotiations so that the operation fructifies, because the Benfica is not arranged to lower of the 20 million euros that request by the international Portuguese. The sport press indicates that sport director of the Valencia, the Italian Amedeo Carboni, will have to travel to Lisbon this week to try to close the agreement, after the club has offered between 15 and 16 million euros and pass of the Italian forward Frame I gave Vaio. The representative of this one, Francesco Zavagli, affirmed that a crossing "could be a good solution" and that I gave Vaio "would not have no problem in playing in Portugal and the Benfica". Nevertheless, the press indicates that the incarnated president, Luis Felipe Vieira, try to close the agreement in exchange for an economic remuneration, because the profile of the Italian forward does not adjust to desires of the technician of the Benfica, Fernando merely Holy. The Valencia will have to hurry in its negotiations, because from England they begin to arrive rumors of the interest of the Tottenham, that would have made to the player a proposal superior to the one of the Spanish equipment. The one that never has let be interested is the Liverpool, trained by the Spanish Rafael Benítez, who already tried the last season to file in two occasions to the end. The negotiations could be closed in the next days, so and as they demonstrate to the absence of the Portuguese end in the presentation of the lisboeta set of the last Saturday and the declarations of Vieira after the same one: "If Simao did not come it is because there is something". i cant understand spanish...
