because when liverpool plays toulouse in france, the french team earn alot of gate revenue thus they are able to afford a new player?

Apart from Lyon, the French league is gash. Bordeaux finished third the other year and last year, they were one of the worst teams I'd seen at Anfield in a long time.

If we can't beat Toulouse then we don't deserve to be in the Champions League.

We really need to get this tie all but wrapped up in the first leg. A couple of away goals are a must for me, not because I think they can beat us at Anfield but so that we can concentrate on the premiership and not piss away important league points early in the season.

As ST. MIKE said, if we don't get past these then we don't deserve to be in the comp.

This is no walk over for us, its going to be a hard away game and then they will come here with nothing Toulouse (ok sorry for the pun).
we need to win the away game by at least 2 clear goals to feel safe.

Toulouse is one of the "strongest" weaker teams we can get...so it won't be a walk in the park......

But i am sure the lads will get through this....

Agreed. As much as they may be a potential banana skin. If we can go from beating Barcelona at the Nou Camp to the CL final and then we can't even beat Toulouse to qualifiy we should be banned from the competition

I think the attitude has shifted a lot more to the league this season, I can sense it in the press, the forum, and the players.  Maybe I was just blind at the begining of last season.  I remember after winning 3-0 away against PSV I suggested starting the likes of Fowler, Lindfield, and El Zhar to give them a run out at a home game in the CL and rest players, and almost everybody said I was crazy.  Was that only because our chances in the league were already shot to bits and the CL was our only chance at glory?  I think at that point in the season at run at chelsea wasn't out of the question.

(sorry for my english, I'm young  :) )

Hi, I'm from France too, but I don't like Toulouse

Toulouse finished 3rd of Ligue 1 with help [of the Ligue 1's President], They stealed their place.

But don't be afraid of them, in their team, the only player who is good is Elmander.  :no

I hope, you will win, go Liverpool !  :buttrock

Bye !

Wasn't there 3 other teams with a chance of finishing 3rd ? They sneaked in with a goal in the 99th minute or something, so they were one goal away from being maybe 6th

No disrespect to Toulouse but if we approach the game in the right way and with a strong team ( like i expect ) then we will be one step nearer to number 6
