CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIRST GROUP STAGE DRAW - Thursday 27th august 17.00 BST

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Johnny Boy » Thu Aug 27, 2009 6:00 pm

Saw a little bit of Fiorentina's game last night and the pitch was a disgrace, very hard and bare patches all over the place.

Shocking even before the season has started.

Right so all 4 English teams are through to the last 16, why not just scrap the group games it seems a bit pointless

I think we might have the toughest group. Certianly got one of the top half in terms of pot 2 teams and one of the top pot 3 teams as well.

That said I am not worried, but it might be harder for us to have the group clinched with no work left on the last day like I would hope

I would say the toughest group is C certainly not ours..

And I would rather our group than Chelsea's

Frey is an oustanding keeper, and I like both Jovetic and Kuzmanovic, both pretty young.

Lisandro Lopez has been playing really well for Lyon, Gomis too. I had both of them on my list of people we should look at as they will probably leave their clubs, and low and bhold they both did :)

When you´re playing as badly as we are, C is the most difficult group.

Arsenals group is the easiest of the 4 English clubs,I cant see much between ours and UTDs in terms of difficulty...Chelsea's is probably marginally the toughest of the 4 on paper!

Anyway barring a miracle all 4 should get through no probs!
With Barcelona and Inter being in the same group and AC Milan And Real in another I doubt there will be a difference in finishing 1st or second as there will be a 2 in 4 chance of drawing one of those 4 (I think). :D

I saw Lyon's ist leg qualifier - they looked very dangerous, a LOT of pace.

They will give us a very hard time, especially at their place.

Yeah..tell that to the 7 teams that have made it into the best competition in football for the first time in their clubs history, securing more money they could ever dream of for their futures in the process!

Thats a very arrogant thing to say lad....Football is a sport, all teams are in the last 32 on merit..all deserve a fair chance.

Oh and you just know that some of these little known about teams will cause an upset here and there.Bring it on!
