2013/14 Premier League fixtures

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby kawaton » Wed Jun 19, 2013 10:48 am

One of the best fixture lists i have seen in years.  A real opportunity.
Upto the Arsenal game on 2nd November, we should be looking at a draw v Man utd and win the rest.
Not saying we will, but all those teams should be beaten if we play on top form.

Even after Arsenal the next 5 games are "winnable".

By the time we hit a tricky 2nd half of December, we should have a healthy points total and playing with confidence.  The best time to face tough teams...

Even after that, of the top teams, there is only Arsenal then until 15th March.
If we do have a bad xmas, those fixtures should help us get back on track.

Following that we have one of the big teams ever other week...at a time when those teams are facing the knockout stages of the Champions league.

Ok, i may be the eternal optimist, but compared to the horrendous set of opening fixtures last year, that we never recovered from......i couldn't be happier.

also the combination of our last 2 home fixtures against stoke ending in a draw and our opening game pattern of drawing means another draw could very well be on the cards.

Let's see how the new signings and the team in general perform in preseason. With no European distractions we really have no excuse for a poor start this season.

For what it is worth the actual dates aren't worth anything in terms of accuracy. Both Sky and BT will have TV rights that will govern the actual dates these games get played on, once they announce which live games they are showing we'll get a better picture.

if we are in the shake up for fourth i hope we have a decent lead over spurs and arsenal going into the last 9 games of the season, we play united, spurs, chelsea and city in that period. some of the other games like west ham away and newcastle wont be cakewalks either.
overall it`s a decent list but it is a tough run in.

Let's look at it this way.  I'd love a run in that meant something.  The past few seasons , the last few games were, let's face it, glorified friendlies that meant nothing as far as where we finished in the table.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Being involved in the race for forth going into the last few games would be a massive boost for the club and the fans - the club needs a really big boost in morale and the fixtures have given us a great chance

Tell you what.  Right now I would sign in blood for us to win our December home games and draw the away games.

I reckon we could be in a top 3 finish. I think the mange will implode. Cheatski and citeh are going to win it arsenal and spurs are going to go backwards. It's our time to make a impression
