Can't honestly believe it.  :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

Who knows what will happen over the rest of the season, it's certainly very tight at the top. No point worrying about that now, lets just enjoy it!! Lets face it, I and many others thought we we're headed for sixth this season, to be in contention and top at Christmas is amazing!!

Happy Christmas to everyone!  :D  :D  :D

2008?

I don't want to be that guy but I'm going to say it anyway: If we lose on Boxing Day we'll probably be fifth  :upside:

We should have won the league that season, how did we not?? We we're the best team by far that year. Apparently the last three times we've been top at Christmas we haven't won the league.

we`ve improved massively but looking at the big picture we could easily be top at christmas and outside the top 4 by new years day!

True, it's one of the most open seasons I can remember. However, even two bad results against Man City and Chelsea will leave us just a few points off the top. All in all, it has bee a great few months.

Once the dust of the season had settled drawing home and away to Stoke put a big dent in our title challenge IIRC .

Well in Redmen for keeping my summer prediction on track   :buttrock

Merry Christmas all :D

IF we lose both games (I believe we'll get 1 point) we still won't be in a bad position. Even fifth place isn't the end of the world as in the second half of the season we'll only have to go to old trafford and Southampton from all of the teams in the top 8 and with it being as tight as it is the absolute maximum anyone can get ahead of us by six points.

If we can win one of the games or even take four points then its ours to lose as far as I'm concerned.

One worry with these two games coming up, we are only six points ahead of Newcastle and Spurs and only 8 against United, we really do need to take at least one point.

We are top, as it should be.

We will not only end Chelsea's home record under Maureen, we will fecking destroy it.

And City? pfft, they should be shatting themselves at the prospect of facing us !

Merry Christmas everyone, and boxing day and new year also !

yeah, thats deffo worth mentioning, brendan and the players have done a magnificent job in 2013, over 80 points in the calender year and some tremendous performances in 2013 too like the newcastle away game last season and the recent spurs game.
the club had been in the doldrums for 3 or 4 years so brendan has done well to have us bounce back so emphatically, top at christmas no less!
nearly going bust, broughton brought in as temporary chairman, change of owners, court cases over ownership, going through multiple managers, the failed experiment with a DoF, worst run of results in a century, the suarez/evra thing etc etc etc........they all seem a long way away now.
well done brendan, you`ve done a great job in trying circumstances.
