He is only 19 and plays attacking midfield mainly on the left not a bad little player from what i have heard but i have never seen him play

November 11th. If you want free tickets, I think I can manage to get 2. More, will be difficult.

Speaking of Celta, we used to have a regular poster that followed that team as a second team, but I do not remember who he was...

Gotta be said tho if you saw the game on $ky Valencia were all over the fookin place. Each defender and the keeper looked like they were all playing different games (some of 'em not even football!) and they are really struggling upfront without Villa who's out injured.

Barca's turn tonight away at Valladolid. The trip to the Nuevo Jose Zorilla could be a toughy for Barca as Henry is definitely out with Achilles Tendon trouble and they're still without Eto'o. However Barca are one team that can't be accused of having a lack of options up front. Messi, Ronaldinho, Dos Santos, Bojan & Gudjonsson aren't exactly strangers to finding the back of the net.
I Predict a 2-1 win for the Blau Grana.  :buttrock

Valencia to unveil new boss Koeman on Friday

Ronald Koeman will be presented as the new Valencia coach on Friday.

The departure of the Dutchman and his assistant Tonny Bruins Slot from PSV Eindhoven was announced earlier in the evening by the Dutch champions, and a statement on the Valencia website later confirmed his imminent arrival at the Mestalla.

The brief statement, posted after the team's 5-1 thrashing at home to Real Madrid, read: 'Coach Ronald Koeman will arrive on Friday, November 2 at Valencia to be appointed as Valencia coach for the remainder of the season plus two further seasons.

'The coach will be presented straight after (signing the contract) at the Mestalla.'

Koeman arrives in Spain with an impressive track record.

The former Barcelona and Holland defender claimed two Eredivisie titles as coach of Ajax before landing his third with PSV last season.

He also won the Portuguese Super Cup during a spell with Benfica.

Koeman leaves Eindhoven with the blessing of club director Jan Reker, who was sorry to see Koeman depart but knew the Eindhoven outfit could not stand in the way of the 44-year-old realising his dream of coaching in Spain.

'It's hard to explain,' Reker said at a press conference at the Philips Stadion. 'We are very satisfied with each other, we have a good relationship and PSV is doing very well sporting-wise.

'But then Valencia called us about Ronald Koeman. Our question was: can't you wait until next year? Ronald always said that his dream was to be coach of a top club in Spain. We respect that now.

'This is a dream club for him and they didn't want to wait. I was a coach myself and when you have a dream, you must take it when it comes.

'It's a pity for PSV indeed - but the ultimate challenge for Ronald. Valencia is of course a very big club.'

Koeman succeeds Quique Sanchez Flores, who was sacked on Sunday, just hours after a 3-0 defeat to Sevilla - the team's fourth loss in their previous five competitive games.

***********************************************

Good to see Vicente back last week at Sevilla, though his inclusion last night was never going to sway the tide. Still once he regains sharpness it will be better for a Valencia side that are nothing but a shadow of their former selves. Maybe Koeman can get them back on track again. Who knows.

Nuevo is new, and it was called nuevo José Zorrilla when it was remodeled in 1980, but not any more!

Valladolid are doing a decent job but I also predict a Barcelona win.

Valencia is a nightmare as always have been. They have the same problems that they used to have under Rafa, only that they're not winning the Liga nor reaching continental finals.

Koeman will be allowed to work? I'm not sure.

Wasn't a great performance by us against Valladolid. But thats not to take away a superb display by them. Not many clubs will be able to say they held both Barca and reial to 1-1 draws at home.

They're also currently beating Zaragoza 3-1 away, and they've yet to lose at home this season.

Was very pleasing to see reial lose to Sevilla last night  :D  Hopefully we can beat Betis tonight and go within a point of reial.

Sabre have you heard about this in Spain my friend in Madrid was telling me about it a while back and i thought they were having me on. but i spoke again about it this morning and they sent me this article.

If this is true i wonder how long it will be before it will be used by more players to extend there careers

Raul on a 25,000ft high after installing oxygen room to extend career

By Pete Jenson
Published: 27 November 2007

It's not quite being "over the moon" but the Real Madrid captain Raul has been sleeping at altitudes of up to 25,000 feet in order to turn back the effects of ageing and fatigue on his tired limbs.

The 30-year-old striker, who travels to Germany today with the Real Madrid squad ahead of tomorrow's Champions League tie with Werder Bremen has been sleeping in a special oxygen room which simulates conditions of altitude in order to boost his endurance levels.

The technique was originally favoured by cyclists preparing for mountain climbs, and marathon runners such as Paula Radcliffe are also believed to have used the method.

In the past sportsmen and women have put themselves in specially designed tents but Raul has gone a step further and has a specially designed room in his house.

The room has a revolutionary air-conditioning system which pumps out air containing lower than normal levels of oxygen and slighter higher than normal levels of nitrogen. The result is an increase in red blood cells meaning oxygen reaches the muscles more quickly, delaying fatigue and speeding a player's recovery.

This season Raul has played more minutes and has been rotated less than any other outfield player at Madrid, apart from Sergio Ramos who is almost 10 years his junior.

Medical experts say the method is safe providing the altitude simulated is not more than 30,000ft and it is also legal, although a spokesman for the newspaper ABC that first reported the innovation told The Independent that the player, believed to be the only professional to have such a room, had been reluctant to reveal too many details.

It is understood Raul spends one or two nights a week in the conditions, but that there is no mobile room for him to use prior to away games.

It's true the method has been used for decades in cyclists first. It's natural, it doesn't require any artificial product, so it's fine.

As far as I know though, while it has a positive effect on cyclists, it's not proved whatsoever that it helps to have more lenghty careers, it just help the oxygenation. But ageing has to do precisely with oxidation, so this cannot be considered any sort of strange trick or cheat to make careers longer.

If you're interested I can give you more info about this method, it's been known for ages and there is a lot of info

Thanks Sabre i know Induran Durrain used it hope ive spelt his name properly but his lung capacity was exstrordanary but i find it strange now that Raul is using it on a full time basis .and has even had one put into his room.

These chambers are also very useful for healing injuries quicker

And on another note no Bamaga i wont be getting one

Anyone catch any of last nights Atletico v Getafe at the Vicente Calderon?

Kin ell ...the ref was like 'Mike Riley against a backdrop of a Benny Hill' soundtrack - 17 yellows/4 reds!

Nuts.

Atletico won the mini-derby 1:0 (though f**k knows how) Getafe were unlucky to say the least.
