Well when you started the thread Bob I was dismissive and was wrong. The Spanish League has taken over in the sense that it has palpably the best team (despite Inter winning the first leg tonight) in Europe.None of the English teams are particularly strong IMHO, although I remain convinced that Chelsea are much the best of a bad bunch and it will be a poor effort if they don't win the league.

But the best league is not the one with the best team. And the Spanish 3rd, 4rd, and 5th teams are not stronger now than 3 years ago, the reason of it being the economic crisis.

But if we're talking about a league, clearly the Spanish one isn't getting stronger, and as a consequence we have a more balanced european competitions, which is nice.
