Watching Lucho right now and he's on fire. Personally I think he's sorely missed but I also remember the way he whored himself for a move.

We certainly miss his tenacity and intensity but he did have moments with us when he couldn’t score. He “dreamed of playing for Barcelona” then he goes to Germany  :glare: clearly he just wanted out of Liverpool.

He probably wanted his sign on fee from whoever was willing to pay for it. The sad thing is knowing they have a short career, most players need to engineer a couple of moves for just that reason, hence players still queue to join United.

IMO Diaz was a bit of an underrated player by both fans and the club. When we sold him I said I hope we don't end up missing him but I think that has been the case unfortunately. People talk about him being one dimensional going forward, I don't agree but even if that were the case what was really underrated was his workrate off the ball and defensive contribution, and also his ability to play out of high pressure and his link-up play. We've definitely missed someone with these qualities this season and Gakpo has none of those plus he's even more one dimensional going forward than Diaz.

If the rumors of Diaz being on relatively low wages were true I can't really blame him for wanting to leave. The fans never appreciated him enough because he wasn't as good as Mane and the club never paid him enough for his quality.

Diaz had good workrate but truth is along with Nunez he just wasnt good enough for this level. Thats the bottom line and he didn't want to be here. Cnut didn't even go to Jotas funeral.

Totally agree with this comment.
Right now if I was asked who I'd want running down the left Gakpo or Diaz ?
It would be Diaz every day of the week.
Sad that his heart was never Liverpool through and through, maybe he didn't feel the appreciation and love he deserved ?
