I'm sure BR is aware. The evidence suggests that it was not his fault that he was left short of strikers.

We have to deal with the next few months, simple.

I'll find it harder to read The Hustlers novice posts let alone our results.

The Hustler:
"Yes I am a Liverpool supporter, but not one that wants us to be fighting in the bottom half of the table.
As far as I recall, Liverpool FC was all about WINNING.

The managers we have had since Rafa, have taken us downwards, breaking all kinds of silly records (worst runs in the league since 1921 etc).

I don't want to see us end up on the scrapheap.

get a reality check."

The reality is we have a new, visionary manager, some older, experienced players and some new and younger inexperienced players, and thats it. The reality is we have to stop being delusional and thinking that just because we are LFC we deserve to be at the top of the league, because we are currently in a state of transition which may take years to sort out. The reality is that no true supporter wants to see us fighting at the bottom, or ending up on the scrapheap but we can only do what we can with what weve got.
It would be far better if people like you stopped criticising constantly and got behind the manager and the team, so they could feel that even though we are going through a tough time the supporters had faith in them. This might inspire them to play better and turn things around
But the reality is you wont because you get far more pleasure from moaning

criticism comes with big jobs, dalglish won every domestic trophy as liverpool manager and even went to 96 funerals but it didnt stop the vultures putting the boot into him even when he got to 2 cup finals in one season.
even ferguson has been criticised by united fans in recent years.
that was one of the worries fans had when FSG announced that they were looking at the likes of martinez, lambert and rodgers for the job, were they ready to handle the pressure of being in charge of a huge club?

The lack of a goalscorer is affecting us in a lot more areas than just not scoring.
It affects our game. As someone else mentioned, our game is very predictable and the players look like they want to walk the ball into the net. Not having a proper goalscorer is one of the main reasons for this.
The other thing is that it affects everybody's mental strength. Not only we're always demoralized by the fact that we just can't put it in the net, it also gives an extra motivation to the opposition. They know that we always struggle to score, and if you can't score, you can't win. That gives great motivation to opposition players and they play better against us.
You know what a 30 yard goal from Gerrard does to player's moral? Or an unreachable jump and an unstoppable header by someone like Carroll? It kills you mentally man. Even if it's predictable, even if it's something you know it's going to happen, the fact that you can't stop it destroys you. These kind of things should be coming from Gerrard and Suarez but they aren't at the moment.
Having a goalscorer helps teams physically but also mentally. Lacking one, has the opposite effect.

i`d give that ngoo a game on thursday, he`s a big, strong gangly lad who`s got a deceptive turn of pace for someone so tall.
not only that he looks unco-ordinated but he`s actually quite skillfull and he`s banging in the goals atm.
we need a presence up top.
he`s a lot better than morgan imo

Not having a go at Brendan.

But I'm worried that if we are in the bottom 3 by December / January the owners might pull the pin on him and send this club into a spin.

I'm sure true fans will stick with him till the end of the season and make a valid assessment but he has to try and either buy a free agent striker or demand FSG give him money in January to buy a quality forward.

they`ll stick with him no matter what, i cant see fsg wanting a strong character like benitez anywhere near the club and if rodgers goes the clamour for benitez would be immense.
to be fair if fsg would have appointed benitez last summer this stiker crisis wouldnt have happened because benitez would have kept carroll.
this crisis is a rodgers f**k up.

We will not be in the bottom three in January, I've read some negativity on here today but Christ

Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing

Wow, four games in and the knives are already out for Rodgers. Never mind fsg, it's some of the fans he needs to be concerned about, re the lack of time he gets.

the poetic words of YNWA are only served up during selective winning days, talk is cheap! And no matter how much this statement is being aimed at Rodgers (talking philosophies etc), it aptly applies to a contingent of our fans.

Which is why Rafa lost my respect.

That year we finished second, we went all out attack. We showed we could do it, Rafa took off the leashes and said to the players, go for it. And why not? Well, heres why.

By this time, Rafa was on a hiding to nothing. He was in his last year of his contract and realised it was make or break time. What he had done since the champions league had been pretty abysmal. He knew he was on his last legs and so he let the players, well, play.

Once he got a new contract, what happened next?

Well we all know. He got his contract, his future was secure, and he robbed us of the kind of play he showed we are capable of.

Its easy in the end to be disrespectful of Rafa, because lets be honest here, he was in it for himself.

what a load of sh!te

How is that a load of sh!te?

Nothing I put there is wrong. I also left out the fact he told players they wouldnt get new contracts until he did.

Towards the end of his Liverpool career, his word was final. Take Xabi Alonso. When Xabi realised he wasnt wanted by Rafa, he had to leave. At the end of the season Rafa said "well, the fans want him to stay so perhaps he should stay." Rafa didnt want him, he wanted Gareth f*cking Barry, in the end we ended up with neither.

Peter Crouch as well, he scored goals, Rafa stuck with him for about 17 games, then he came good. When he started banging in the goals, what did Rafa do? DROP HIM ! Thats right, for one reason or another, he decided Crouch wasnt worth pulling on the shirt. At one point, he stuck Crouch out on the left wing. To this day I cannot fathom that one out.

He did the same thing with Robbie Keane, persevered until he started scoring goals, then dropped him. After 6 months, off he went.

Lets not forget he also took off Steven Gerrard in a derby match as he was "too passionate". Really?

Like I pointed out, towards the end of his career he was concerned only with his interests. Before his contract ran out he got us playing some wonderful football, with some fantastic results. But once he got his new contract, he went back to the boring, predictable football which we had become all too familiar with. Losing some good players in the process and replacing them with the likes of Aquilani.
