Lets stay cool and assume both the manager and players have learnt from that first game.

No ponit getting worked up and hysterical after one game, theres 37 more to go.

mate i more worried that the owners dont see it that way, we have laods of hard games coming up and if we dont get the results from the start i am not sure how the owners will take it.

I agree with a previous post that hopefully the players will be roused by playing City at home next week. Seriously though I think the next few weeks are crucial. Provided we are at least in mid-table by late September I suspect the owners will publicly back Rodgers. Much lower though I'd be less certain.

unless we are literally in the bottom 3 next march the owners wont sack rodgers, they`ll only sack him if they genuinely think our top flight status in peril (we couldnt afford to go down financially in their eyes).
it would look ridiculous if we sacked another manager, we`d be a laughing stock if we had to look for our fifth manager in 4 years.
to be fair to the owners they stood by roy for quite a while when everyone was calling for his head and he wasnt even their man, they only got rid of him when the attendances started to fall. if we have a really bad start (like say we are in the bottom 3 after 10 games) rodgers only concern would be the criticism from the press and the fans, the owners see him as their man and they believe in his long term vision for the club, they have nailed their colours to the mast.
as i said the only way i can see rodgers job being under threat is if we are genuinely in danger of going down and no matter how bad things get that is not going to happen.

No they didn't. They had us and United right at the start. It was a bad result against United sure, but that doesn't mean they had a bad start. We were being oled by WBA.

gooners last season was terrible in the initial stage after the 8-2 or 6-2?? trashing by mancs they went down hill, but rvp saved their season.
no a lot of team can win after the ref awarded 2 soft penalties.
ie) last season, avp's chels was 3-0 nil up against mancs, howard webb awarded mancs 2 soft penalties within 10 min. mancs went to draw the match. a demoralized chels went up to lose a few more matches n cause avp his job.
if rogers is really what he said he is ie) barca style football, we will bounce back.
my only complains is we did not address our problems last season which is scoring goals. we did not sign a striker with a good scoring record infact we went to strengthen an already congested midfield.

my 2p worth... Brendan Rodgers is doing a fine job. So what if he lost the first game, he may go on and lose the next 3 but we're building for a future not instant success

Gutted with the result the other day but we have to move on.

Bear in mind it was Allen's first Liverpool game, Lucas's first PL game in 2012 and Borini's first PL game ever as well as a new manager and completely new tactics.

What Brendan's trying to do can't be achieved overnight, especially on a fairly tight transfer budget.  I think we might spring a few surprises in these next few matches that people seem to have accepted we'll lose before a balls been kicked.

Take this rediculous common sense attitude from this forum at once, you know as well as the rest of us that we are doomed!!!

Sack the manager
Joe Allen is ***** and was just lucky to have a 97% pass completion
The ref was brill and we where lucky he was kind enough to allow Skrytl to stay on the pitch and he should of let Long have another chance at the missed peno because Pepe moved!!

1 game in - you couldnt make it up  :rasp
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Reminds me of what Rafa said when we signed Aquilani - We're signing him for 5 years, not 6 weeks.  :D

Unfortunately, there are a large number of fans who still demand instant success. The next several years will be rather tough on them.

Are you mental?

By the beginning of October they had dropped 14 points (4 losses, 2 wins, 1 draw)

I can see a lot of fans here are willing to give BR time to build up Liverpool, which is good. But, there's a but here,  if that is the case, then we must be prepared to lose Suarez next summer. A player of his calibre will not want to play for a team where qualifying for CL will take a few more seasons. Football playing career of a player is short and he won't have the patience to wait that long. I know he signed a long term contract recently but that doesn't mean he won't ask to leave as early as next summer. It is just that we can command a higher price tag because of his long term contract.

The goal scoring problem, looks like have been brought forward to this season. We cannot depend on Suarez to score 25+ goals/season. He is not a natural scorer like Rush, Fowler, Owen. He is good at tearing defences down and provide assists to others. So other than Suarez, who else do we have in the squad who were signed to put away the chances created? We have Carroll and Borini, that's all. Carroll doesn't look like he will fit into BR's tactics. Borini is an unproven striker who may or may not come out good. So Brendan needs to sign that proven goal scorer before the window closes that we desperately need to stick the bl..dy ball into the net. With Suarez, Carroll and Borini, I fear the same goal scoring nightmare problem will haunt Liverpool this season.

Suarez was unfortunate, on another day he'd of buried them. Let's not look for issues here, we had enough chances in the first 30 mins to put the game to bed, yes Suarez missed his fair share but would any other striker of made a difference on that day? I'd doubt it. what will be will be, we move on and learn.

Suarez has been missing chances for the last 12 months - we need a goalscorer. Suarez wont score enough for us.
