Lets stay cool and assume both the manager and players have learnt from that first game.
No ponit getting worked up and hysterical after one game, theres 37 more to go.
mate i more worried that the owners dont see it that way, we have laods of hard games coming up and if we dont get the results from the start i am not sure how the owners will take it.
I agree with a previous post that hopefully the players will be roused by playing City at home next week. Seriously though I think the next few weeks are crucial. Provided we are at least in mid-table by late September I suspect the owners will publicly back Rodgers. Much lower though I'd be less certain.
unless we are literally in the bottom 3 next march the owners wont sack rodgers, they`ll only sack him if they genuinely think our top flight status in peril (we couldnt afford to go down financially in their eyes).
it would look ridiculous if we sacked another manager, we`d be a laughing stock if we had to look for our fifth manager in 4 years.
to be fair to the owners they stood by roy for quite a while when everyone was calling for his head and he wasnt even their man, they only got rid of him when the attendances started to fall. if we have a really bad start (like say we are in the bottom 3 after 10 games) rodgers only concern would be the criticism from the press and the fans, the owners see him as their man and they believe in his long term vision for the club, they have nailed their colours to the mast.
as i said the only way i can see rodgers job being under threat is if we are genuinely in danger of going down and no matter how bad things get that is not going to happen.
