If we want to become a successful team again, then we really need to be challenging for the league and the Champions League again, we won't do this by finishing mid-table and winning domestic trophies.
i agree but i think people forget just what a state we were in when kenny came here. it may be just me, but i'm willing to give a manager more tham one full year to take us from a team that was hovering above the relegation zone and getting beaten at home by the likes of northampton to a top 4 side again, regardless of money spent. it's harder than it's ever been now as there is no top 4 as such. it's a top 7-8 and then the rest. man city under hughes/mancini spent £300m and still missed out on the champions league originally. nobody has a divine right to success and that includes us.
this summer is huge though. there has to be an emphasis on quality rather than quantity. last summers signings were brought to stabilise the club. now it's time to push on and make that next step.
