i read it on a site yesterday that ayre flew out to spain to open up talks with his agent.
our 3 main targets in january apparently montoya, ratkic (sp?) and bertrand.
that would represent a pretty decent window for me

Another Chelsea reject who is no better than Enrique? Sigh!! Ivan Ratikic is a good player though.

in bertrands case, i have seen him play a few times and he looks competent enough. how he will fare out is anyones guess but if he does come here i fear we will have overspent again.
montoya, i have never seen play but he is highly rated and other big clubs are chasing him so he must be decent.
ratikic, again i no little about him but he is a mid and we desperately need one that will add a bit of balance.

todays speculation is much better

We've been linked to quite a few barca players.. Montoya, Pedro, Sanchez, Tello... I could actually believe those rumors considering Roger's belief in Barca's philosophy. Having those players already understand how to play like that could lessen the time it takes to gel. Not sure many would be interested in leaving Barca for us tho.

give me yohan cabaye and another striker and il b happy with that, don't think we need montoya or bertrand theres plenty of cover in defence.

there four capable players for each position

Wisdom is on loan and im not sure Cissohko is actually a football player.

Express linking us and Everton with that Gauld kid from Dundee Utd.  I've been saying for a while that we should seriously look at him, best talent to come out of Scotland in a long time.  Very lightweight though, he could do with another season or two where he is to allow him to develop.  Maybe signing him in January and loaning him straight back to them until the end of next season would be a decent investment.  I don't think he'd cost a lot either, I'd be surprised if it took over 2 million with some sort of add-ons, such is the desperation of SPL clubs for money these days.

christ, i hope everton dont sign him, with the likes of delofeu and barkley they are already starting looking the part.
i`ve often said on these boards that we should start buying proven quality instead of potential but i`d make an exception for that gauld, his vision is dalglish like

il be livid if we end up signing nothing but potential and more fodder in january.  we have more than our fair share of that already.

apparently athletico is entering the race for pepe, between them barca and maybe napoli interested we would be foolish to accept the £4.5 mil quoted here.

4.5m for Pepe? That's mad!! Keepers can last for ages if they take care of themselves and I don't see why Pepe wouldn't have another 4 or 5 years in him. I wouldn't sell him to Atletico either as I want them to do us all a favor and get Courtouis on a perm basis
