Milan has agreed to sign Honda for free in January. One that got away? Never seen him play so I wouldn't know what he would bring to us, but I've seen some posters here speak highly of him. Thoughts?

He's gone for European football and lots of money. Sadly, we have neither...

He can't play anymore European football this season as far as I know. He's cup tied. And Milan won't qualify for the CL next season.

Honda is a good player but I always thought that he's overhyped and not as good as everyone made him to be. But Rodgers could have probably find use for him and he would have been worth the risk since he's a freebie.

I always felt the reason Honda was so hyped was because he was a decent Asian player who clubs felt could use as leverage into the Asian markets.  I mean the day united bought Kagawa was the day they got rid of Park… I know it sounds awful to say it, but Kagawa's transfer fee and salary are likely paid for in jersey sales. Decent player, but nothing more really.

Kagawa is miles ahead of any Asian player. He could be to Utd what Coutinho is for us but Moyes is too stupid to realize that.

When I say decent player, but nothing more I was referring to Honda.

I feel Kagawa is actually a pretty good player too, but I still believe the main reason they went for him over others is because he is Asian. Sales from  Park had probably just about dried up, so why not tap into another country with a large emerging market? At least they went after a decent player this time, but he's still struggled when he's gotten his chance.

Too good to be true. He turned down Real Madrid you know.

I've been talking about this kid for some time now. Saw him play when he was 17 and I've known since then that he is going to be the next big thing.

BR was at the Shalke v Basel game but its more likely to check out Mohamed Salah rather than Draxler.
We're also linked to Jorginho.

Ah, that sounds more like us. Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian Messi.

As for Jorginho, it looks like he turned out to be a solid player. He's had 7 goals and 2 assists this season which is pretty good considering he's a midfielder. We were monitoring and were heavily linked with him before the start of the season but never went for him. Maybe BR really has an eye for this kind of players. Nowhere near the quality that we currently need though.

We badly need a midfield powerhouse in our team...maybe a Yann M'Vila type of player?

diame isnt in the best of form atm but he did win west hams player of the season award last year.
at 26 he`s just entering the best years of his career and we dont have any other midfielders at the club who can run at (and go past) defenders like he can, he`s a big lad who covers the ground quickly as well so he gives us a bit of pace and a bit of presence in there too. with a buy out clause of £3.5m he`s worth buying just for the fact he`s totally different to the likes of hendo, allen and lucas (who are all similar in style)
put him in the side and surround him with better players like suarez, coutinho, sturridge, gerrard, johnson etc and he could really be a revelation, his powerful direct running from midfield with the ball at his feet could really trouble defenders who have already got their hands full trying to keep an eye on our front 3.
at that price i hope we sign him

Certainly worth it for that money I think. Would he nail a starting place though? Not sure that is guaranteed, but even so, he looks like a player who could easily be playing at a higher level than he is now.
