Voronin Set For Bundesliga Return?
Hamburger SV boss Martin Jol is reportedly considering approaching Liverpool with an offer for their unsettled Ukrainian international Andriy Voronin. After having failed in his efforts to prise Dirk Kuyt away from Anfield, the ext Tottenham boss appears to have turned his attention to a player that was a star of the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen but has hardly got a look-in at Liverpool.

After having arrived on a free transfer last summer, the 29-year-old failed to establish himself in the starting XI due to a combination of injury, poor form and the brilliance of Fernando Torres.

In contrast to Kuyt, the Ukrainian striker would likely jump on the chance to continue his career elsewhere, saying just last night: "It looks as if there will be no honest competition for my position. I think it has been filled whatever I do."

Voronin was reacting to being left on the bench during the 0-0 draw at Standard Liege last night.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez likely had an ulterior motive for not using him as that would have left him cup-tied, and seeing this would have just given Jol more encouragement to weigh in with a bid.
