I was on the fence, but the chocolates the Kop sent to my office and the new Jag in my driveway sealed the deal.   :bowdown

Good point;

paul_tomkins   @imhoffjosh People seem to think Rijkaard success was due in no small part to Henk ten Cate, who's no longer working with him

may explain why he's been cr@p at gala ....  ???

No, not him (I wish!)

But I know for a fact that Henry reads team forums. He became a member at sonsofsamhorn (Red Sox forum) and actually posted there a few times years ago. Then he got inundated with questions from happy eager members and ran for his life.

I would bet my house that he at least skims the LFC forums.

If I were you, I wouldn't want to Rijkaard.

We used to make put pressure againts every team, everywhere on the pich, but Rijkaard doesn't want to that. He wants to calm and intelligent football, also lots of passing, so that in my opinion he is not the coach as you wish.

He is a good person but not trainer...

That is spot on, after Henk left Barca things went pear shaped for Rijkaard, very similar to when Rafa and Paco Ayesteran fell out here.

In the case of Henk Ten Cate he went off to manage Ajax I think, and was completely w@nk at being the top guy!  :D

Latest rumour is that Ten Cate would jump at the chance of working at Liverpool with Rijkaard

paul_tomkins @imhoffjosh My sources claim Ten Cate would be interested in teaming up with Rijkaard at Liverpool. Truly exciting. #LFC

great. only stuck with roy till after euro 2012 then :D

And I don't think Capello will want to manage a Championship side either.  :D

i bet nando wouldnt be sulking for to long if capello was around.   :buttrock

He has said the england job will be his last.
Dont really rate Rijkaard TBH, it would be a total punt and I dont think thats the way we should go.

MON must be loving that Hodgson is running the gaunlet at the moment.

If we dont get at least 4 points off of Blackburn and Bolton combined, we will have a new manager in place, and MON must have his fingers crossed, jumping up and down in his little tracksuit, bitting his nails.

Personally, I wouldn't choose MON as manager though.

Ten Cate has a bad reputation as a bully and can get on the wrong side of players.

I'm not keen on the idea of Rijkaard. I know he had some success at Barcelona but it all ended in tears there (although it always does with them). I cant quite put my finger on it: I just dont see him as being the right fit for Liverpool. He would probably command the respect of the players at Anfield given that he was a monster of a player himself but I'm not convinced whether he has the wherewithal to commence the massive rebuilding job that is required.

from reading this thread it seems we dont want anything less than the best.
hiddink and capello are both tied till 2012 after the euro's.the truth is that mon, rijkaard and klinnsman are available and if nesv do seek a new manager then my money is on one of them.
id rather see kenny in till the end of season to see what he can do,if either of the above gets appointed in the interim then id like to see kenny as asst manager.
nesv need time to get a handle on the club first, get the right advisors on board and seek out a top drawer gaffer and finance him to rebuild a team that will have us competing for the top honours.
i really hate the thoughts of having another 5 year plan from any manager whomever it is.

Err, we screwed ourselves over the Barry deal.  MON did what any good manager should do when trying to hold onto a key player: negotiate hard and make the other team pay through the nose.  With that said, I'm not sure he's the right fit.  For one, there's clearly too many Reds that don't want him...
