He is just toally invisible on the field and he never gets stuck in or tackles for the ball. Just plain poor 98% of the time on the field.

Jogging around lethargically on the field makes me fuming

I'm not saying I think Lucas is a great player or anything, far from it. In my opinion he is a squad player, someone who can make a contribution, shore things up when you need another body in there etc. However, just because he doesn't light things up in a 3-0 win doesn't mean he had a bad game. I doubt Masch would have had a particularly noticeable impact had he played from the start yesterday, he certainly didn't have much impact when he came on for the last 20 minutes. Sometimes a holding midfielder's biggest contribution to a game (especially one like last night) is simply to maintain some shape and balance to the side when others are bombing forward, to be in position in front of the back four JUST IN CASE. That's all Lucas did yesterday. Did anyone really expect him to put the shot he had last night inot the top corner from 30 yards? He put it the same place Masch puts most of his shots, into the roof of the Kop.

6m we paid for this  lad and the ammount of shhiite he gets is astonishing.

He is improving all the time. Like Fletcher has at scum. I mean, i remember when people hated carra in the team when he was lucas' age. Fact is, some players mature earlier than others. Lucas is a slow burner, who has the ability to make the grade.

Maybe rafa needs to change his style a bit. I agree with mick in that he is "pata pata" footballer. Not an Alonso type.

Let him go and stevie drop sometimes. It gives you more options and a more fluid type of  football.

Yes for someone who dishes out as much abuse and calls people clueless as often as Emerald does, he comes out with some incredible stuff sometimes it has to be said. I read it first time up and had a chuckle, it doesn't get any better for a second read  :D.

Game no 50 of the season where Lucas does his class act impression of the invisible man.

Jog around, look disinterested, jog home when we loose the ball, never tackle. Please someone take him in the summer....

But he has been watching him a whole season now.
He must see with his own eyes that he is lacking in every department?

god knows. It feels like we've sold a Ferrari and bought a second hand Citroen. Rafa often says in press conferences all the things that are good about Lucas.

Thing is Rafa, if he was that good you wouldn't need to explainit, we would see it

As for our 20 million quid Italian mascot, its a fecking disgrace.

I gave up lampooning this Brazilian carthorse long before he sat in the heart of midfield for the 18th loss this season.

Hes beyond c'rap.

rafas made kuyt into a defensive centre-forward. He just seems to like players who are COMPACT rafas slang for best form of attack is defense? Thats y he doesnt like aquilani.  Ive never seen a more negative cautious manager in my entire life.

Leiva is a top end Championship or bottom end Premiership player and no more than that. There are midfield lads turning out for clubs at the bottom of this league that would walk into Leiva's spot tomorrow under any other manager. Thats how far we have sunk under this regime. This kid will be a look back and laugh signing, ever memorable for all the wrong reasons unfortunately.
