My problem is the type criticism he receives. Lack of effort, sulking, etc.

Grow up, I have watched him this season and the problems are not lack of effort or sulking. Its fitness and focus. Fitness is injury related, he clearly hasn't recovered, and focus is because he is surround by average players and a liability of a manager.

As for the comparison for his failure against those of Lucas and Kuyt....gobsmacked. Don't talk to me about the state of this forum when there are comments spouted like that.

hes just lost heart at liverpool f.c and also hes lost a bit of pace too, hes clearly slower these days

he clearly gave 100% for england in recent games, was just poor thats all.

In my opinion I would say that out of Torres and Stevie it is Torres who looks like he doesn't care at times this season, his attitude this season has been very bad. You have no idea at all if Torres and Gerrard are pi.ssed off with Rafa - not the first clue - no one does nor do you know he is pis.ssed off with his teammates

And even if he was once he pulls that shirt on he should be putting him 100% effort for the club and fans that helped him get where he is now and pay his massive wages and idolise him - they expect the players to leave it all out on the pitch and show they deserve the songs being sung about them .

And you have no idea whether Gerrard is putting in 100% or not. The manager obviously thinks he is doing as well as his injury will allow or he would have dropped him ....wouldn't he? Surely that is the managers job?

Well i can only judge what i see on the pitch saint and i have seen numerous occasions when he has either misplaced a pass and then just stood there head down or when he has tried to take someone on and they have easily robbed him of the ball and he just stood there doing nothing to try and get it back for us - im sorry but i have seen him sweat blood and tears and work his a.rse of for years and put in 100% every game for us for many years yet i havent seen it enough this season .

THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS FECKING INJURED !!!!!

there have been people on here definately saying they would sell him if we can get 30 million. So we can then buy 2 or 3 players.
