Europa league - Here we come

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Or the UEFA Cup was always the secondary European competition, nothing to do with Rafa "raising the bar". The fact that we became regulars in the Champions League was as more down to the changes in quotas per country than anything Rafa did - Evans and Houllier both managed to finish 3rd and 4th you know.

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

so getting back into it by winning the thing in 2005 had nothing to do with the manager then? and don't give me this cr@p about UEFA changing the rule to let us back into it. the rule was an absolute farce in the first place.

we've been feared all across europe since rafa came here. we've won away against the likes of barcelona, real madrid and inter milan. that's why this season was so disappointing. our expectations have been raised so high.

Seriously though, fans are being arrogant and snobby.
This is nowhere near as prestigous as the champions league but its still a decent trophy and one that i would be buzzin if we won.

A trophy is a trophy and this would certainly look good in the cabinet but it ain't no prem or champions league and that is what every single Liverpool fan craves.

I find it embaressing to be in it. Manure are playing AC Milan and we are playing some mickey mouse team.

The competition has a big "loser" stamp all over it.

It would be less :censored: if no CL failures went into it.

Really embaressing to be in this.

Must admit it's pretty hard to get excited about isn't it! I almost find myself agreeing with the world's most depressing lfc poster (see Big Nial above), but not quite. It's a bit like the League Cup in that you can't really get excited about it until you find yourself in the semis plus we are playing a team that sounds like an STD :D

It's more like winning a medal in the special olympics - better not to be in the competition in the first place.

I take it you wont be watching the game then and if we get to the final I take it you wont be watching that game either, cheering the team on, hoping we go all the way to the end and lift the trophey? Will you look at the back page of the following days paper which shows LFC lifting the cup and just mutter 'how embarrasing'?

well thanks for your support. May your ear'oles turn to ars'oles and sh1t down your neck.

I for one will be cheering the team on as I do every other game Liverpool play. It's a trophy we can win and we haven't won one in nearly 4 years.

Come on you reds!!

We've entered this competition because we failed in another which besmirches the whole Europa League thing. If it was like the old Uefa Cup where you qualified via 'winning' the League Cup (laterly) the FA Cup and finished high in the League then fair enough but to enter a competition because you lost in another is fundamentally wrong.
