Yes, just wondered if he's lived up to his reputation as one of the best young midfielders. You would've thought if he was that good he wouldn't still be at Lazio and would also be picked for the national side.

It's not often I tout players from Sweden but Rasmus Elm "heading to Everton" and Tobias Hysen "Glen Hysens son" would both be great additions. Tobias Hysen currently leads the swedish top scorers league and he plays as an offensive mid.

Arteta's been mentioned and i'd agree with him being an ideal replacement for Alonso. I also think Stephen Ireland would make an centre mid his own if he was here. Man City are trying to buy every :censored:

under the sun but nobody's testing their resolve to hold onto their own. If we got 30M from Real for alonso I'd hate it if we spent 10M here and 10M there on unproven foreign players....Id want to see the whole lot going back into a CM who can play right now...and I think Ireland could be that player. Only 22 with 4 full years prem experience, he could easily step up to a bigger club.
